Eighty. Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 Nice guys finish last... or 2,000 light years awaaay
petros Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 I voted for Burnout cause it's a great song and I love how the album starts with it!
Just Kate Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 i think best one is American Idiot but i mostly enjoy 2000 Light Years Away (that's why i voted for this one)
Lauren Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 Burnout is definitely the best opener. It's not a "planned out" opener, like Green Day's Song of the Century or Good Charlotte's Once Upon a Time. It's just an awesome song to start out with, especially how it starts out with drums. It's a great punk rock song, and it gives that extra kick to the album so you know it's gonna be a great, rockin' album. I didn't vote for it because it was my favorite song out of these (I actually don't think it is), but I voted for it because it's the best opening song.
.katie. Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 21st Century Breakdown is definitely the best opening song. But since it's not there I'd say Burnout
Holly Ann Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 burnoutburnoutburnoutburnoutburnoutburnoutburnoutburnout BURNOUT!!! I dunno, I just adore this song. It gives you energy and prepares you for the awesomeness of the album that follows.
Lauren Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 21st Century Breakdown is definitely the best opening song. But since it's not there I'd say Burnout Except it's not really the opening song... Song of the Century is. Oh, by the way, this is a really good thread topic. Interesting. burnoutburnoutburnoutburnoutburnoutburnoutburnoutburnout BURNOUT!!! I dunno, I just adore this song. It gives you energy and prepares you for the awesomeness of the album that follows. Yes, that's exactly how I feel!
darenmay Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 i'd say American Idiot. it sets the mood, it tells the setting of the story before the introduction of JOS. right from the start (the very first line) the title of the album is being contradicted (or rather explained) and reasons are given on the rest. but i also like Burnout! i mean, look at that, "I declare I don't care no more!" it's an awesome opening line and i think it summarizes what Dookie is about. /burnout sets the direction of where dookie is going to.
Nzap Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 NGFL I found new love with that song and is I think the most energetic song Green Day ever has made and really is one of their greats, and immediately gives an exciting beginning to the album. AI, AS, 200LYa, ATL.. ahh damn all of them are great, but I think only Warning was not the greatest choice of opening of an album as Castaway would IMO have been a better starting song.
FannyDefoe Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 I would have gone for Song Of The Century ... 'cause I wake up every morning as my alarm sound...so every day is a sweet day waking up with billie joe's sweet voice XD but it wasn't for choice... so I say Warning...cause it's my fav song of all...so simple and so genius XD
Vrock09 Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 It has to be either American Idiot or Burnout..all the way!!
iloveyouisntenough Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 Armatage Shanks! It defffinitely defines the music on Insomniac from the very beginning
Juliette Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 Song of the Century, but cause it's not there ummm probs AI cause it sets the tone of the story and that
ifmemoryserves Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 American Idiot, Burnout, Armatage Shanks, Maria... Such a hard choice, but probably Burnout.
Alllllli. Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 Definitely Burnout - I declare I don't care no more is the best opening line ever.
kods (: Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 Definitely Burnout - I declare I don't care no more is the best opening line ever. Exactly this.
xpoprocks&kittycatsx Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 I like both At the library and Nice Guys Finish Last!
