MusicalDeviant Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 Nice Guys Finish Last is the best opening song on a Green Day album. Period. It pumps you up in a way Armatage Shanks and Burnout just can't, and YOU know it.Don't bother trying to tell me you DON'T jump up and down rapidly when this song comes on, because we all know you're lying!Plus, its one of Green Day's best ever songs, and leads into one of the other GREATEST Green Day songs ever, Hitchin' a Ride.
M1KEY Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 The one off insomnaic...Artmagae Shanks (I cant spell it to save my life!)But Burnout is pretty spiffy too.I can't pick one...LMAO It's written there as soon as you click on the thread, you could have even copied and pasted it! I picked American Idiot because it packs such a punch and because it was an amazing opener/single/video after waiting 4 years for the album to come out. Warning and Maria follow closely behind. I don't think Burnout was a great song to open dookie with. Not because it isn't a great song, just because I don't feel it as an opening song. There were other songs on dookie that had riffs that felt more lik openers, like Welcome to Paradise, or When I Come Around, or Having A Blast...
Cassie. Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 Totally just reminded my of the Flinstones
M1KEY Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 Warning the most unique to meTyrone!!! Welcome to the community dude! You're just a ferry ride away from me, finally a fellow board member in my neck of the woods.
Ally Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 I love all the albums but out of the opening songs, i love suffocate.I love american idiot but i get bored of it, and, i love all the rest but suffocate is my favourite one
tattyjane Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 Theres' something about the way AI opens that album that i just love
DarrenDookie Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 As far as im concerned 2000 light years away is the best
jake smith Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 i was stuck between warning and at the library.......i went with warning
FilmAdaptation Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 Favorite opening song of a Green Day album is quite different than what I came for. And why I fixed the title accordingly.
greendaytone Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 I went with Nice Guys Finish last, cos Nimrod was the era i really fell in love with Green Day, and i was in the moshpit that collapsed during that song at V98 for my first ever Green Day show. They had to stop while we all picked eachother up. I think i can identify with the song as well, and its the hardest (sound wise) of all their opening tracks, i think.
Hermione Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 Favorite opening song of a Green Day album is quite different than what I came for. And why I fixed the title accordingly. What's the difference?
McBeth Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 Burnout and Armatage Shanks...voted for AS
FilmAdaptation Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 What's the difference? It didn't make the distinction of being a Green Day album before I fixed it.
Doug Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 the intro of armatage shanks gives me the greatest feeling everwarning will always be one of my favorite songsi love playing at the libraryburnout has some meaning to me because i was being a burnout for awhilei wanna say warning wins my vote
Whatsername1533 Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 I think that was the hardest decision I have ever made.I went with nice guys finish last.
Ila Reto Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 Just saying, Joe Robot was a terrible opening for The Network. Transistors Gone Wild would have been much better.
Jack96 Posted September 17, 2008 Author Posted September 17, 2008 but suffocate is my favourite oneQuite alot of people dont agree with you on that one lol
