Lauren Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 I think the most underrated album is 1,039 Smoothed Out Slappy Hours. There is something oddly charming about it.Yeah. The only thing I don't like is no Tre. but other than that, I LOVE THIS ALBUM!
gnash Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 At The Library, Paper Lanterns and Dry Ice from 1039/Smoothed Out Slappy HoursOne Of My Lies and No One Knows from KerplunkShe and Emenius Sleepus from Dookie (and also maybe Pulling Teeth - on a side note, the lyrics to this remind me strongly of the Stephen King novel Misery [no relation to the Green Day song!] - I know this isn't the intended meaning but it fits!)Armatage Shanks and Westbound Sign from InsomniacThe Grouch, Scattered and Worry Rock from NimrodChurch On Sunday and Castaway from WarningMaria and JAR from International SuperhitsDesensitized, Rotting and Do Da Da from Shenanigans (I would say Ha Ha You're Dead too but I think we can all agree that's blatantly awesome)Letterbomb and Whatsername from American Idiot (seems pretty universal, this. How awesome is the ending of Whatsername? so powerful)And possibly Restless Heart Syndrome from 21st Century Breakdown
harveybradGD Posted June 27, 2009 Posted June 27, 2009 Chump, 86, no pride and misery are all awesome songs
Starred Thoughts Posted June 27, 2009 Posted June 27, 2009 Rest is a great song - very mellow, but great nonetheless. Also props to the song entitled 'Green Day' - even though it's about pot, I just like the way it sounds.
Penguin Puffball Posted June 27, 2009 Posted June 27, 2009 The Grouch, Deadbeat Holiday, Misery, I Was There (pretty much all of 1039 and Kerplunk!), Westbound Sign, and Letterbomb. There are definitely more but I'm just naming them off the top of my head.
tuwlol Posted June 27, 2009 Posted June 27, 2009 American Idiot, definitely. Church on Sunday & Macy's Day Parade come to mind right now..maybe because I just read it scrolling down the page. But I agree there's plenty more.
alaniluau Posted June 27, 2009 Posted June 27, 2009 So many are way too underrated, but The Grouch is definitely at the top of my list.
death_has_a_shadow Posted June 27, 2009 Posted June 27, 2009 Of all the albums, Shenanigans is definitely the most underrated. Probably because is a bunch of B-sides, but it still counts as an album, and the songs are really good. As for songs, Uptight and Misery are great songs that maybe could have been singles.
Heather! Posted June 27, 2009 Posted June 27, 2009 ^ I agree about Shenanigans.Rest from 1039/Smooth. I love that song so much
Tiffx Posted June 27, 2009 Posted June 27, 2009 I love Castaway, definitely underrated. So is All The Time from Nimrod. There are heaps of underrated songs on Nimrod actually.
TheMinority16 Posted June 27, 2009 Posted June 27, 2009 GREEN DAY (the song). They need to play this live again!
plasticpictureframe Posted June 28, 2009 Posted June 28, 2009 The Kerplunk! version of Welcome to Paradise Most people think it's just on Dookie, when it's not.
Hermione Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 ^The Kerplunk version is a million times better than the Dookie version
communitykid Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 Going to Pasalacqua is an amazing piece of music that never got anywhere...The entire Nimrod album is underrated. I guess most people think Good Riddance is the only good song on there...
