Blond-O-Sonic Shimmer Trap Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 I love No One Knows! It's my favourite song from Kerplunk, probably more than Holden or Christie Road.I'm going to say Worry Rock, the solo/lead thing is awesome. And as many said, Letterbomb. Billie-Joe's favourite song from American Idiot. Whatsername as well. Since they weren't staples of the AI tour setlist, they could probably be seen as underrated.
AlanJLegend Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 I'm pretty sure if I went through this whole thread, every Green Day song ever released is mentioned at some point...I am going to be pretty broad and say every song on Dookie and Insomniac that didn't get 'big'.
shoegazeloser Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 Flame me, but I think Deadbeat Holiday is really underrated.
vivalamegan Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 Android.Misery.1000 Hours.Castaway.Love those songs. <3
novacaine_kid Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 I have always said Insomniac was terribly underrated. However a lot of people have the same opinion, so I guess its not as underrated as i first thought. A lot of people dislike Warning, but I love it. Songs like Church on Sunday, Castaway, Fashion Victim, they are all awesome songs that don't get enough credit.
!taste4suicidal! Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 haha wow thats so sad but i would have to say no one knows and blood sex and booze and the judges daughter and misery and prosthetic head...! idk a lot!
Snorri Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 I've read many times that Warning is the most underrated Green Day album ever :/ And it's my favourite
forget_me_nots Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 It's kind of obvious to say all of Warning, isn't it? Oh well, it's true. Misery, Church on Sunday...you know. Then there's like, Rotting, Do Da Da, Stuck With Me, Prothstetic Head, J.A.R., Poprocks and Coke, Maria, (although the last three are pretty well known, right?), Worry Rock, Scattered (one of my FAVORITES), Sick of Me, Macy's Day Parade, Christie Road, Road to Acceptance, At the Library, Bab's Uvula Who?, Who Wrote Holden Caulfield, Why Do You Want Him, No One Knows, Paper Lanterns, The One I Want.........I could go on for ages. Overall, for such a massive band, they have endless songs that no one hears that they should. I swear to God I've met people who think American Idiot was Green Day's first album.
junkpile Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 in my opinion the song "86" should be mentioned here. there isn't much to the lyrics at first sight. and many say it is about the split from gilman.but in an interview billie says it is about one night stands. this topic fits with the lyrics, "86" as a random number of a hotel room. somehow, another great song, "church on sunday", is kind of a sequel to me, since it has this "save the realationship by reinventing and compromising"-feel to it."86" seems quite autobiografical, written during the dookie explosion and insomniac time. green day all of a sudden well known millionaires touring from city to city and billie, far away from his wife, having (a) one night stand(s) and regretting it.

Sharmellow Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 Any song from 1039/smoothed out slappy hours and kerplunk. Those two albums don't get enough credit. If it weren't for those two albums, Green Day wouldn't be here right now.

I think that their first album is one of the most underrated besides Warning. I think people seem to like Kerplunk more than 1039/smooth, but they're both quite underrated.

I think people seem to like Kerplunk more than 1039/smooth, but they're both quite underrated.Indeed.I don't get how some people seems to think Warning is their worst album.Warning clearly has some more in depth lyrics than some of their albums.Personally, it's one of my favorites aside from 1039/smooth&Kerplunk.
