hardtoconcentrate Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 Don't forget about Ramona too! The guys seem too down to earth to let their kids sit around and be spoilt brats.Green Day tour tickets were extremely reasonable compared to most bands!
Hermione Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 Yeah, Green Day's prices are very low for a band of their calibre, you won't find another band of their size playing big venues that charges less. They're one of the biggest bands in the world, they could get away with charging extortionate prices, but that's not how they roll The only reason the amount is so high is they played SO many shows to huge audiences. I'm betting U2 played way less shows than that, but just ripped their fans off instead to make up for it.
farley drexel hatcher Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 You heard what Billie said; they did so much touring that year. Even at the time, whenever new tour dates were announced I was thinking, "Don't they need to rest?!"I remember with Dookie they lost a lot of money and they probably had to foot most of the bill when it came to the FHT tour as well. There aren't that many bands who will pay to tour like that, take a smaller cut and all. Plus with the theatrics and the whole entourage surrounding the AI tour, most of what they got would have gone toward expenses like that; the band themselves didn't end up with the entire $140 million. That said, they're still definitely rolling in it! XD
Eirik Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 Shit. Homies be rollin' in dough. Joey, Jakob, Stella, and Frankito will never have to work. Ever. They'll be set forever.i don't think a wife/husband of theirs would need to work either...
Marc. Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 That is a shit load of money considering they charged nothing compared to artists that played in the same arenas (With even smaller stage setups i may add)120 bucks for Green Day in 2005 in Aus cheap? dude Motley were charging 70-100 for all seats in 2005 in Aus which included Motorhead already a better a deal. Also you all might like to look at 2006's list U2 got slaughtered, not just by the stones but Madonna doubled what they made and Bon Jovi kicked their asses aswell... http://blogs.usatoday.com/listenup/2006/12..._top_tours.html
Hermione Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 ^Interesting. Yep, The Stones and Madonna sure are major rip-off merchants.
Beathe. Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 my dad's a big U2 fan and he was quite disappointed for the tickets being well over $100 dollars.that explains why they made so much money.I don't think that's expensive. Many of the concerts I've been to (by known bands) has been more expensive than that.
CarnageXB Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 Thats great. My green day ticket was only 22 and I was in front row.
Fuzz Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 I think i paid around $40 for each of my tickets when i saw them that year. More than reasonable.
**nobodylikesyou** Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 ^considering the show they put on, I definately think we got our money's worth.
DeJennsitized Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 No.[/sarcasm]Must've forgot to put that at the end of my last post.
Marc. Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 ^Interesting. Yep, The Stones and Madonna sure are major rip-off merchants. The Rolling Stones a rip off? for the show they put on it's amazing. Alot of thbands from the pre-80's era charge more because they can get it and their managers and who ever else know people will pay that.
Excalibur Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 My aunt went to a Barbara Streisand concert and it cost €380 for a ticket. And the front row seat were €1000. Thats ridicilous! Is she charging the same OTT prices every where else?
mandypants19 Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 I've never been to a Green Day concert, but from what I've heard and seen on Bullet In A Bible, I'm positive that the 40 or so dollars would be more than worth it. So w00t for them
Mommy's Little Nightmare Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 I've never been to a Green Day concert, but from what I've heard and seen on Bullet In A Bible, I'm positive that the 40 or so dollars would be more than worth it. So w00t for them Definitely 100% worth it.
MusicalDeviant Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 ^in addition to that I would be surprised if they wanted to sit around and do nothing.good thing is they can do whatever they want. Wish I could!!!They could be like Paris Hilton. She goes around spending her parents money and parties. She doesn't just sit around
thisbrokencitysky Posted August 16, 2008 Posted August 16, 2008 They could be like Paris Hilton. She goes around spending her parents money and parties. She doesn't just sit around ahhh i hope we dont see a sex tape from any of them though haha.
chickin'pickin' Posted August 16, 2008 Posted August 16, 2008 Contrary to what others have said, the Milton Keynes bowl Tickets WERE expensive.
Towers Posted August 16, 2008 Posted August 16, 2008 My aunt went to a Barbara Streisand concert and it cost €380 for a ticket. And the front row seat were €1000. Thats ridicilous! Is she charging the same OTT prices every where else? 380 Euro!!!! That's waaaaay too much money
Joey Posted August 16, 2008 Posted August 16, 2008 The fact is that U2, Rolling Stones and so on have older fans who have a greater disposable income than fans of bands like MCR and Green Day. Green Day wouldn't have sold the tickets if they'd have matched the price of U2 and co.
Guest give me novacaine-jos Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 wow that's really cool! they deserve it!
