I never had a chance to see them live until American Idiot came out, I moved to America in September 2004 and I got to see them live ten times during my stay, best time in my life!

I like the earlier stuff, like Dookie era. I don't like how scripted the AI performances are. I haven't ever seen them live, I'm just going off videos I've watched.

Well, I've only seen them live during the AI Tour, but, I'm a fanatic of their pre Dookie times, and when I watch videos from back then, ahh!

Its so raw. I love it!

I chose the dookie/insomniac era, the nimrod era, and the warning era. I have been to every Green Day concert that has come my way since the end of 1995. The AI era was ok, but it was way too scripted for me. I saw them twice then, and after the first show, I could predict everything that was going to happen during the second show (which was a year later).

Dookie/Insomniac: it was my first concert that I got to go to. I loved that they were just total dicks back then. I don't know what it was or why I loved it, but it made me laugh and the energy was just amazing. I remember Billie launching himself into the audience to go after some ass who started slamming Adie. That, and the band was a lot more talkative during that show. Mike and his "Merry fucking x-mas you stupid mother fuckers." was pretty funny along with Billie jumping over the drumset and falling on his ass after All By Myself was great.

Nimrod Era: I saw them twice during that time, and the shows were completely different. One was in a small venue.... Oh, so many good memories there (Billie threatening to keep my jacket after it got thrown onstage being one of them). There were no screaming teenies either. The energy was amazing, and again, they were pretty talkative. It was then that I learned that I don't mosh and seats = good. lol. The second show was a festival type thing for a local radio station. It was during this show that the infamous "KFAD" thing happened and I about vomitted while trying not to laugh at seeing the shocked faces around me; AHHHHHHH THE WHITENESS! lol. Tre lighting his drumset ablaze was great, along with Mike tossing his bass into the mixure!

Warning Era: small show, pretty teenieless (minus a few). No opening band, so we got stuck with them for 3 hours (shame, just a shame HA!). They were still pretty talkative, and there were a few times during the show where they got the audience laughing. The setlist was great too. A whole mixture of songs.

Sorry for the long ass story

American Idiot. They were completely polished and sounding fantastic by that time.

Nimrod99, cool, I love hearing about the details of Green Day shows like that, you lucky bastard :D, although 'teenies' don't bother me.

Cor, all I have to say about this is vomitting would've been the last thing on my mind :shifty:
