umm last ride in is pretty sweet. and where would you guys be gigging?

I live in Vancouver, BC. If I can actually form this band, I don't really see it going very far out of this area, like I said before, this is more for fun than anything else. If we can book gigs and have a good time, that's all I could hope for.

I'm going to say, why do the mods here have to be so friggin' negative all the time. Christ I'm glad Andres is still here. I know the mods are sick of the "I love Andres" posts, but take an effin' hint, there's a reason for it! Let people have some fun without trying to bring them down a notch. That's the job of the asshole posters on here who have nothing better to do. Then it's YOUR job to tell them what I just told you.

Anyway, thank you to everyone who is actually supporting this idea. I really appreciate it! Your input really means a lot.

That one's winning by 6 votes right now. It's one of my faves actually, but everyone can't like it. Hell, Billie hates the name Green Day... LOL

Love your ava by the way, I've never seen a full episode of Haunted, only the Billie clip. I love that he and Matt Fox are good friends. Billie should guest star on LOST next!

Because they have a song called Hysteria? Sound of Hysteria is actually a GD lyric, I think it fits more with a Green Day tribute band in that sense. I haven't been able to get into Muse... maybe I need to hear more... but I've tried. LOL

lol i know its a green day lyric dude, and i know its a muse song lol, i like the muse but not as much as my mates do

i fink for ur band name you need a name that will instantly associate you with green day, none of those names will instantly make u noticable as a green day tribute band.

remeber not everyone are hardcore green day fans so they may not know songs like the last ride in etc

green dayz is available in the states i belive

I don't know if I want it to be that obvious. I'd rather have a good name than an obvious one. Sound of Hysteria wouldn't be obviously anything (neither would Last Ride In, Hermione). The best Beatles cover/tribute band in the world is called Rain (I think), which doesn't immediately say Beatles to me personally. I'm not opposed to it being obvious either... LOL I would never go with something like Green Dayz though, that's going too far I think.

I think it depends on if the band is trying to be as much like Green Day as possible or not. If you want to be as similar as possible in order to recreate their live experience and be a 'tribute' band, then having a similar or "obvious" name is the best thing you can do - it's gonna attract more people and make it more authentic. But if the intention is more to play covers in your own style, then you can be more flexible about the name.

Either way is all good.

You so smart beyotch! I do kinda want to be as close to their live performances as possible, but going back to that Beatles cover/tribute band, they are almost exactly like seeing the Beatles from what I hear and their name isn't obvious... so, I dunno.

Picking a band name is always hard no matter what. Green Day has been my biggest inspiration for 14 years now, so I really do want to pay tribute to them if I can pull this off... the naming of the band is really tough.

Additional note...

DAMN those remix guys for using DEAN GRAY! I love American Edit but I'm really jealous of their name now. LOL

I chose Faith and Misery, it sounds powerful. But Last Ride In sounds good as well.

For me the same, Sound of Hysteria makes me think of Muse. And I only know there is a song called Hysteria, I don't know it. And idk, it sounds a bit wannabe to me. That's probably just me :)

And I think it's really great that you play in a coverband. I can't play any song on my guitar.
