And by that i mean, maybe some random merch in the mail, etc.Yeah I agree with that. In their old fan club years ago, people paid their $20 and knew exactly what they'd get for it, eg. a t-shirt, stickers, newsletters and whatever else. Now apart from the videos and forum, all the extra stuff is given out through competitions, so it's luck whether you get it or not. If you're unlucky and never win anything then it's just tough! If you got some actual material things free when you joined it would seem much less of a rip off to me.

I have never put myself above any other fan! I simply have the money, at the moment at least, to pay to join their fanclub and have not ideologies that tell me that its a bad or elitist thing to do. I like the band, I have the money, therefore I joined the fanclub! simple. and as hasd been said before.. we dont GET info that the rest of the fanbase dont get! we have a forum, some pictures and some videos. plus a competiton. the idiot club is not about keeping information from people!as for people not knowing what they were getting for their money.... hello, its on the main site if you care to read it. yes, we dont get free shit through the post. well so what? Maybe I imagined it, or maybe it was just the first bunch or something; I know I saw it, anyway.

I think people made the assumption that they would get stuff because of it listing official fanclub merch being available or something. I joined on the second or third day, something like that and never expected to get anything. as for that stock market quip..... they probably do know the best things to invest in.

I think the Idiot Club would be a decent idea if they actually updated it more. The Ten Club gets you TONS (and I mean tons, like 2 complete PJ magazines, better tickets, limited edition merchandise like silk-screen posters, and a Christmas 45'. Every year). If the Idiot Club did anything CLOSE to that standard, I would join...

If you take into account what you can win in competitions, then maybe it's more worth it, but my point is it's not guaranteed that way. For me, if you're not lucky enough to win something, what you get isn't worth $20.I think if you got something through the post, even if it is crappy, it would seem like you were getting more for your money.
Spark of Insanity Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 i think that the Idiot club should be a free site that i pay $20 dollars and i dont really get anything out of my money and i dont have much money and i spent that out of my own pocket and out of money that could have gone to bills that i had to pay at home and then i get on and i have to say the first time i logged on i thought it was completly dead i thought that no one was on and that nothing happened and i thought hey i got jipped on something why did i get on this i am only on it now because of the friends i have made and i have come to the point now where i dont want to read through most of the threads or post or anything and i only go on to answer my messeges or post in a group cause otherwise it is dead and whatnot. i think that the IC should be a free thing cause we are not getting our moneys worth actually its kind of a ripp off and people ONLY come on there for the friends they make ive had many many many people tell me that and i think that myself. i think alot that i dont want to renew next year but i want to still talk to those people i have met so i am torn about renewing unless the new album comes out then it would be a time to come back or not. and there are many faults with the IC as we all know and most that has been on have noticed and its not updated at all it seems a waste exept for the people really. thats the one good thing and then too much spamming in threads i got so fed up where i just stopped one day and i just mark the topics read and dont even look at them that much and ive only been on much because i was bored and had nothing better to do. and only for those people when they are on i stay that long. if it wasnt for them i wouldnt bother to come on at all i am being honest with that.

I agree it would be better if you got more for your money, but it's your own choice whether you pay for what they're currently offering or not.I think it costs too much for what you get, so I haven't signed up and given them my money, simple as.

I`ve been told that they are still going through but I wouldnt swear to it. as for the forums not being the best, as I`ve said so often in the past... its down to the members to actually do something about it. if you want interesting threads, start the damned things. goes for any forum. mods and admins can only do so much when it comes to organising things... its down to the members to make an actual community.
Spark of Insanity Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 i had a friend who was on there and she said you would get exclusives that you would get more out of your money and when i joined i loved it because there were some things that i loved of threads to go through and mostly i like groups cause everything else got spammed i knew i wouldnt get much but i was wanted to have at least the vids work or anything and now nothing is working not even taking subscriptions really. and my mother said she would put in a check for me and i pay her back and my friend was on at the time i wanted to join. and she told me so many great things and i wanted to see for myself i joined in february and now i only stay for the freinds that i have made on there.yeah at the end of the day you do cause your already a member i wasnt a member before never saw the forum or anything just joined and now i know what its about and i go on daily for certain people to see. and its easier to keep up on there than email or anything. and i go on there now cause my home life is awful and its a sort of escape a stalling of thing so i dont have to have people fucking bitch at me daily and all the time and force me to do things.im thinking about not rejoining. really if it wasnt for the people and now im only on because i am making sure that i get the most of what i want for my money i paid for it and i never have money im getting the most out of my money and be on it as much as possible thats some concilation. i do agree it does cost way too much for what they offer.netty as far as on the Idiot club ive started many threads and some have started discussions without getting into spam thats one good thing but then theres not alot of post anyways on the threads. i have wanted to post on interesting threads but some interesting ones die because people just dont post they dont think its worth it and all so they all really die quickly.

I`ve tried repeatedly to kick start things on there. asked time and time again what people would like to see changed and apart from getting the bump fixed and things like that, nothing much is suggested. even the "song for whenever" that I swear faithfully ( :whistling: ) wasnt pinched from here, has got pretty much no reaction. personally I`d love to get rid of the groups section but thats where most people post now. there or in the spam/games sections.

Yeah, anyone can be abusive, but it only becomes a problem when it's accepted, so other people join in the abuse and no one speaks out against it. So it's a problem with the culture of a given place, that accepts cruelty instead of trying to stop it.

I`ve picked up bits and pieces but not enough to actually say for sure and wouldnt dream of it any way. its up to the guys what happens to it and when we find out what they have decided. I`m not going to be like that twonk who came on and blabbed about the revamp of the main site and idiot club being clsed down! what happened to him any way? did he mysteriously disappear soon after waving his mouth about?
