netty Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 Yeah GDC knows stuff before the IC has a chance to post itthe only real news postings on there have come from Bill who posted them on the idiot club before posting them on these forums. for whatever reason they have never bothered posting anything much other than tour and record news. hopefully the new team will keep us a bit more up to date with things once it all kicks off. I`ve no idea whether a pre-sale will be done next time round. the last tour was well under way by the time the idiot club was started so pre-sales probably just werent possible. that kind of thing might be factored into the new version.

For about the first year it was ok, but since then it has been completely useless to me. I'm not renewing in September. If you don't want to waste 20$ for nothing, you shouldn't join.
greenbear Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 I've been a member for a couple of years now (well actually the account is in my son's name as he was a bigger fan at the time) and I've kept the subscription up but I'm not really sure why. I occasionally check the forum there but its nowhere near as good as here! At the moment you aren't missing much by not joining. I'd save your money and wait until things start hotting up again. Then it might be worth it.

There was the All Ages club, but there were no special presales for them (us, rather). I don't really think they would limit presales to club members. It would be easy for me to just join, but not for some others, and it doesn't seem like their style to want to exclude people, so I actually hope they don't do that. Though I think joining is not worth it, and my own membership expired quite a while ago, there is one perk I did get by being a member of the All Ages club. When Green Day played on the Carson Daly show in Jan of 2005, the club actually called me at home to let me know how to get tickets! I was completely blown away. (Tho I didn't actually get the tickets... )
