minority29 Posted December 29, 2008 Share Posted December 29, 2008 i can't remember the first green day song i heard. maybe when i come around or good riddance. but the first song where i kinda knew it was them was holiday. it was last year(yeah kinda pathetic, i've like been deprived of music my whole life) and i was in the car with my brothers and one of my brothers pointed out to my other brother it was holiday and he started singing to it. i liked it but didn't really know who sang it. then i have this thingy called music on demand(it's on charter) and i was flipping through it and holiday was on and that's when i found out green day sang it. luckily i was home alone that day . i didn't even know green day existed until last year but i remember one time i went to my cousin's and they were talking about american idiot and how funny it was. that was i guess maybe like 2004 or 2005. and then like last year my mom and i were watching this grammy special about the grammy's best performances and green day were #1 . and it was their performance of american idiot. my mom the whole time was like criticizing them like how you can't understand billie joe and that people only liked it cuz they were jumping around and stuff. and then i bought american idiot(song) off of itunes. but this was when i was a sort of fan of them cuz i had holiday and boulevard of broken dreams on my ipod. then again i was flipping through that music on demand thingy and i found when i come around and i was like "hey i've heard this song before" only because i was familar with the guitar part. first video for me would have to be bobd. but yeah i was never aware of music or anything until i got into music last year.
