they are working on the album. they need to finish it now. and thats not just y view or any other fans. its what they want to do.

I think they are done with the distractions now. its just a case of getting it finalized and working out the rest of the crap that goes with it. deciding the name, when to release it and arguing dates with the record company. (if its not that close its getting there) then its down to fine details. album name. cover. what sort of publicity they want for it. what sort of tour they are willing to do/want to do.

these guys arent finished yet. you can forget all the predictions. all the previous comments. they`ll finish when they cant do it any more.

I'm betting the album will be a surprise to most of us. At this point there's no telling how many different musical directions they're willing to take. I think it'll be exciting...

i'm not sure whether the "big three" is ready to declare that they are back to basics.i think there are so many emotional baggage on their mind.they wanna make a difference,anything but ordinary,never make the chords like american idiot.they gotta think too much about the commercial factor.they do the job not by the simple mind.they care about whether the brand new one will make a break through,they worry about the grammy,the billboard....money should not be the first priority of making music.billie joe is not sold out and he knows what kinda music he should fucking make.he is back,not gettin' lost.

im sure green day IS relising a new album, maybe apart from that hey made the foxboro hot tubs just for fun, they made the tour probably so they could start getting on track and starting to have the feeling of what its going to be when they tour for they're green day album, cause its vbious that its going to be a bigger thing than the foxboro hot tubs, no?

^I think your English is fine. I agree 100% that the new Green Day album will be much bigger than FHT, that was deliberately kept small-scale. The new Green Day album will be a historic event when it comes out, it's gonna be awesome to hear and see so much of my boys . Can't wait.

hah i love having green day dreams. it used to happen more often when i'd fall asleep to BIAB, and then a few times on my trip i had dreams about the fourm.

{edit} my dad just said he had a dream 2 nights ago about seeing green day at a bar and calling me to come there. i think he's had more green day dreams in a few weeks than i have in 2 years. i find it creepy. it's not normal, he's not a fan (a big fan...he used to have insomniac when i was a baby but he broke it).

uh, anyway on the topic, either they're going to come out with a new fht album, or not. i'd much prefer to not have another fht album and they just release a new green day album (and maybe THEN make another fht).

Honestly, I don't think the new Green Day album will ever come out. And yes I know that they have been writing songs, (I hear they have 45 songs so far or something like that), but I think I've come to the conclusion of why they haven't come out with it yet.

The way I see it is that Green Day (before American Idiot) didn't care too much about how well album sales and all that stuff after they released an album. Of course, (I know a lot of fans will disagree with me) American Idiot was definitely their best album made. The thing is, I think they are having trouble trying to make their new album better then American Idiot. So what they did was create a side project called the "Foxboro Hot tubs" as you all know, and they made songs that they really wanted to play. These are the same band members, but they switched their name so they wouldn't be criticized as much. They did this for fun, not for album sales and money.

I think that they have been fed up with being so mainstream, and their record company is probably pissing them off a lot too.

I think that they are going to stick to this new band "Foxboro Hot tubs" because this is how they would want to make music anyway.

So my question to you guys is, do you think that the Green Day album will ever come out? And what are your thoughts for the Foxboro hot tubs? If you didn't know it was the members of green day, would you still like them?

i think they will get an album out but it will take a while. think about it thier last album before american idiot was warning and that was released in 2000 then american idiot was released in 2005, i think we cn wait a little while longer. i agrea with you on think that they were fed up with being main stream. i think they wanted to get back to thier roots. but i don't think that they are just going to stop being Green Day like some people think. i probably wouldn't even have heard of Foxboro hot tubes if it wasn't for this website, but yea i think i would have liked them still.

But yeah I agree with your point, I don't see why people are surprised it's been so long given the last gap was 4 years. Plus after AI they toured until the end of 2005. I think the fact they've just released this FBHT stuff shows they're in a music making mood, so it won't be long to go. Just as The Network signalled new creative energy and was soon followed by AI, I think it'll be the same this time with the Foxies being soon followed by the new album.

The American Idiot video was out in August of 2004, the album came out in September, then the Boulevard Video came out in November I think... I could be wrong there. The other 3 videos came out in 2005.

I still believe that the new Green Day album will be released this year and ever since the interview in which Billie said they were working on 3 new albums i've been obsessed by the idea and have got it into my head that we will see 3 Green Day albums this year. With one already released I can't help but think that the Network may also be resurrected but then that is probably just wishful thinking.

There'll probably be only one released this year and the rest next year.
