New Green day album and foxboro hot tubs.

I think they've done the FHT thing for funsies, and for the fans. Not for the money, because they could make ten times, twenty times, more money on a national arena tour. No way is this for money purposes.

And I wholeheartedly believe we will definitely be hearing about a new GD album in the next 3 months. Not being released, but some kind of news.

I feel it in muh bones. And I've heard something, from someone, on the FHT myspace site. The director, and the "founder" of lushotology told some chick they were at work in the "music mines" or something like that. It's in their comments.

But at any rate, GD is not dead. Far from it. And realistically they can't top AI w/ the next album (more than likely, but anything is possible...) and I think the best thing in the world for them to have done is this FHT thing. I think it's great. I think it eliminates some pressure.

And I cannot wait to see what they come up with next, cause NONE of their albums have ever sucked.

Oh ye of little faith(s).

And 2 of those years touring!

EXACTLY! Probably wore themselves out.

Honestly, I don't think the new Green Day album will ever come out. And yes I know that they have been writing songs, (I hear they have 45 songs so far or something like that), but I think I've come to the conclusion of why they haven't come out with it yet.

The way I see it is that Green Day (before American Idiot) didn't care too much about how well album sales and all that stuff after they released an album. Of course, (I know a lot of fans will disagree with me) American Idiot was definitely their best album made. The thing is, I think they are having trouble trying to make their new album better then American Idiot. So what they did was create a side project called the "Foxboro Hot tubs" as you all know, and they made songs that they really wanted to play. These are the same band members, but they switched their name so they wouldn't be criticized as much. They did this for fun, not for album sales and money.

I think that they have been fed up with being so mainstream, and their record company is probably pissing them off a lot too.

I think that they are going to stick to this new band "Foxboro Hot tubs" because this is how they would want to make music anyway.

So my question to you guys is, do you think that the Green Day album will ever come out? And what are your thoughts for the Foxboro hot tubs? If you didn't know it was the members of green day, would you still like them?

Why would they be pissed with the record company? They are the ones who did the distributing for the FBHT album.

Well, Green Day has been mainstream since "Dookie", if they were ever fed up, it would've been during that time. And they probably have a contract with Reprise, so I don't think they can just end it like this. I don't think that the money made from being FBHT is even half as much as them being Green Day. I know they don't care about the money (they kinda have a lot already anyway), but the Record company does. If they stay as FBHT, Reprise won't gain anymore money from GD merch, concerts, CDs, etc... I'm sure that Reprise lets GD do whatever the fuck they want though, since it's always been that way lol.

And I do think a new GD album will come out....eventually. I really think this year was all about experimental stuff, and the whole FBHT thing was just to get the creativity to flow. They probably stuck to being FBHT for a while because being FBHT is not as tiring as being Green Day. As FBHT, they got to perform in clubs, as Green Day, they kinda have to perform in stadiums and arenas. As FBHT, they don't have a contract, and as GD, they do, so they kinda have to tour and do interviews. Being FBHT just gave them more freedom, and it gave them a chance to try out new things. I don't think that they intend for it to be a permanent thing. Also, they have families too, that's why they did the whole FBHT. It was something for the fans, and something for themselves (but not something as pressuring, like a new GD album/tour).

Oh and it's a good thing, the whole FBHT thing gives us a taste of how great the new GD stuff is gonna be.

Green Day are cetainly not finished by any means. FBHT was a great side band and if FBHT was Green Day giving a half hearted attempt at an album well then i cannot wait to see them go all out for the new Green Day album. We will be blown away by the new album its going to be like this (my theory anyway) American Idiot + Dookie = Green Day's new album. That just sounds mind blowing im really looking forward to the release of it. When i say "we" i mean the loyal Green Day fan base other people will have mixed opinions on it but 2009 will be the third coming of Green Day.

i don't know how you people can say green day are going to quit.

they're going to be like U2 and play into their 50's.

for some reason, i feel this album is going to be self-entitled.

And as FHT (or FBHT, depending upon your perspective) they had the freedom to get completely and totally blitzed.

Cause they were performing in bars.

Under the Church of Lushotology

Which is a good excuse.

Not that they need one.

But this was about having fun. Fans, having fun, and freedom.

And you could tell, seeing them at a show, that they were having the time of their lives.

Cheers!

Oh man, I think they'll be like the Stones and play into their 100's.

They love it too much.

anyways why are you so worried? they said they're making an album and i doubt they got to the studio one day and were like "well i know we kinda told them we would but... eh f*ck it.

it'll probably come out this fall and be just as good as any of their other work. in the mean time read a book or something.

I recommend Duma Key/Stephen King...

reading it now...

Those were the sweatiest, most realistic robots I've ever seen, and would give my right arm to own a Tre Cool model.

Then stop provoking everyone. Gawd, how have you not picked up on that yet?

anyway i think the new album will come out and then then'll release another one shortly after that and finally a greatest hits album and that'll be the end of GD :(

YEAH!

I smell smart arses.

I don't think their careers will be over until they're damn good and ready for them to be. They're not your "average" 36 year olds, they are all 3 in incredible shape, and they can keep up the "rock out w/ their cock out" for as long a they can stand, and their age does not reflect their ability to make good music. They keep getting better. Like a fine wine... heh... cheesy...

BB King is eleventy hundred years old, and he by God tours sitting on a stool. It's what he knows and loves.

Age ain't always a factor.

I have a strong feeling that this will be their final album. At least in the somewhat near future.

yeah your right but it'll be a sad day when Green Day retire :(

Why are people so convinced that Green Day will soon come to an end?? That's the last thing I would expect from them. They have many years of rocking left, and I don't see any reason why they won't do so together.

Ya but they've got young children too so they cant just keep on going into their 60's

I don't necessarily see them coming to an end completely. I could see them keep on touring for a while, but I don't think they are going to bring out anymore albums after this one. And if they do, I don't think it would be for quite a long time.

Damn at the negativity up in here! Ya'll are acting like they're old farts or something lol They're not! I've never seen someone w/ so much energy as I've seen from Billie Joe. If anything, all the drinking will bring them to a screeching halt, not their age or lack of love for what they do. Otherwise, I see no reason for them to stop, and no indication from them that they are. If anything, I think they're on fire for it even more so now.

I reckon Itll be this next one then one more after the tour then another International SUperhits thing then bye bye Green Day.

But who knows they may keep goin.

They may even do another Foxboro Hottubs album (highly unlikely)

Oh man... I'll go into mourning... Wear black w/ a red tie for, like, six months or something... heh No really, I think I'd grieve, they mean that much to me. Sad, I know...

BUT I don't see them retiring, damn it. Positive thinking! And think how many times Kiss have said "goodbye, we're retiring" same w/ Cher and a shit ton of other bands. But they keep on spinnin' round the world. I'm telling you, these guys love it. I don't think they could completely quit and be happy...
