Superfizz Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 I have a warm feeling that the new Green Day album will come out by the end of this year...i read a few articles and the members of GD claim that they wish to 'release' the new album this year..however, these artcles were written before Foxboro Hot Tubs became recognized..so I'm still confused on what the hell they're doing at the moment..I do like the new groovy sound to Foxboro Hot Tubs, but I do really miss the good 'ol Green Day stuff..if they release a GD album there may be demands for tours...WOO!

I don't think they care though. I'd rather they lost those fans than be too scared to experiment for fear of losing them. If they tried to pander to what fans want they'd end up making boring, unimaginative, rehashed music. It's better that they do what they feel like, and if some fans don't like it, tough luck. Of course we already know this i second that.

And I'm sure the band couldn't care less if some loser journalists have something against them. They've put up with crappy reviews before (ie. Insomniac, Warning), and carried on regardless. In fact they only really got critical acclaim (rather than just big sales and fan approval), with American Idiot. They've done without it before and I'm sure they could do without it again. They'll make whatever music they're inspired to make, regardless of what critics or fans want.

TotalBasketCase13 Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 Green Day are like Reprise's biggest cash cow, even with long delays between albums I doubt they're mad at them, and I've never heard of GD being angry at their label so I don't really think thats a plausible theory. Besides, to me, FHT just shows that Billie, Mike, and Tre are still tight as a band unit and fully capable of continuing to write great/catchy songs. Also, I realize people are greedy by nature, but I doubt by now with all the money they've made that they're too worried about the commercial success (or "toping american idiot"). In fact I wouldn't be surprised if the new GD album turns out to be like Nimrod, success-wise. You know, one huge hit single and decent sales, but not nearly at the magnitude of Dookie or AI.
