Fuzz Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 I actually got to talk to him last week. He's doing good. Just got a life.
rudiecantfail Posted May 19, 2008 Author Posted May 19, 2008 I hate when the cool internet kids get a life.
SOMERTEN Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 At last an intelligent opinion, like this Justin Sane!A lot of kids know about punk because Green Day had the guts to stand up against George Bush. I laugh at all those people who would now be in obscurity big time if it wasn't for the band they call sell outs, and most of them still play shite music.John Lydon (as he now likes to be called) has always been loaded as he married an heiress. He's also always been a hypocrite according to friends who knew him back in the days.
Hitman Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 Maybe the CIA sent a hitman after him No. They did not send a Hitman to get him.Carry on with your business. Nothing to see here.
madie Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 justin sane is so cute, i think i just fell in love *dies*fantastic video
FilmAdaptation Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 Also, I used to hate Blink-182 but I have more respect for what they did now. There's no denying that they were an excellent band back in the day, before they 'grew up'.Are you saying they got worse as they grew up?
FilmAdaptation Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 Have you listened to Angels and Airwaves?Yes, but if you are trying to use that as an example of how Blink 182 got worse as they grew up, I really don't get it.I think Blink's self-titled is the obvious place you can go for their "grown-upness" and I would say that's a pretty damn good album (minus the loathesome Feeling This).
Laura33 Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 I mentioned Angels and Airwaves because thats what Tom used as an example of him growing up.I never really rated them as a band, they had a few good songs for sure, but Toms voice got on my tits.

chickin'pickin' Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 A lot of kids know about punk because Green Day had the guts to stand up against George Bush. I laugh at all those people who would now be in obscurity big time if it wasn't for the band they call sell outs, and most of them still play shite music.Had the guts?It was an act of rebellion.Teenagers latch onto a rebellious figure/figures.It was always going to be a popular move....
chickin'pickin' Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 Haha, I can't see how Blink thought that they could be taken seriously after writing songs about having sex with dogs. It's just not happening.
NoVaCaInE! Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 I think this took place in Dublin?? Anyway that was ... interesting
klytaemnestra Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 Yes, but if you are trying to use that as an example of how Blink 182 got worse as they grew up, I really don't get it.I think Blink's self-titled is the obvious place you can go for their "grown-upness" and I would say that's a pretty damn good album (minus the loathesome Feeling This).Feeling This owns your face kthx.as does maths.& just for the record i like ava but +44 own them, but blink owns them both. obviously.
Hitman Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 +44 is decent.Their self titled was lame.Angels & Airwaves are horrible.Tom can't sing for shit.I have spoken.
Trotsky Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 Blink 182 did nothing good after Enema of the State. That is scientific fact. They were simply organically incapable of writing serious music. There's a few good tracks on Take Off and Self Titled but for the most part it steered into Dad Rock and trying-to-be-experimental.I never listened to Blink for serious music though. Serious music is so anti-Blink.
Trotsky Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 I agree. But I gotta admit, Stay Together For the Kids is a great song.
MrGreenDayUK Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 I really thought the whole 'clown' thing was good. But now Tom DeLonge does all these interviews saying he's like Jesus and things ("I only said all that because I was jacked up on meds") but now you can't take him seriously really. He'll never lose the Blink tag. It's like Charlie Simpson from Fightstar. All anyone ever talks to him about is him being Charlie from Busted. The only worse thing I can think of is Will Simpson from Brigade, who everyone knows as the brother of Charlie from Busted.
Trotsky Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 Back on topic of Justin Sane, I hope he does more solo work. I really loved his last personal album.
MrGreenDayUK Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 Back on topic of Justin Sane, I hope he does more solo work. I really loved his last personal album.Oh fine. But I wanted to talk about Busted....
Trotsky Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 Oh fine. But I wanted to talk about Busted.... You want a mod to rape you with a strap on? It will happen.
MrGreenDayUK Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 You want a mod to rape you with a strap on? It will happen. You think Justin Sane would have ever joined Busted if they'd conquered America?
Trotsky Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 You think Justin Sane would have ever joined Busted if they'd conquered America? No, I really doubt it. Chris Head might, that guy is unpredictable.
