netty Posted May 1, 2008 Posted May 1, 2008 I don't think at this point that they would really give a shit if the next album doesn't have hits and isn't successful commercially. It would hardly be "a waste of a whole lot of time" if they are happy with it regardless of how well or badly it sells.I think this is the way they have always thought of things. yeah, the fans loving what they do is great. but its a bonus because it means they can go on and do more of what they want to. them liking it comes first. if they dont like it... we dont hear it.
Jillie Boe. Posted May 1, 2008 Posted May 1, 2008 Why?Well I've lost a lot of respect for them during the last few years, and I don't like any of their new music, and well, them. I think it's always better for bands such as Green Day to stop making music whilst they're at their best, rather than after they've gone down hill. My opinion, obviously a lot of people still enjoy them.
Guest give me novacaine-jos Posted May 1, 2008 Posted May 1, 2008 I'll what if green day never comes back?i think u made a typo.yes i do but that me and i love them for that reason. green day is my whole life is the thing that have changed my whole life and behaviour! that's why i love them! their songs describe every single day of my life!

My opinion, obviously a lot of people still enjoy them.exactly. just because you dont like them any more doesnt mean they should stop. they are enjoying themselves still, while you dont have the connection any more. sad but it happens. I have to say I would rather read posts where people say they have lost respect for/interest in the band than read posts where people say they are going to "do something drastic" because a band has decided to quit. its not like that will actually change the bands mind about their decision.
Ila Reto Posted May 1, 2008 Posted May 1, 2008 its not like that will actually change the bands mind about their decision.yea, i think it's just fans venting their frustration about it. im pretty sure none of us would go as far as to take drastic measures.
Juju Posted May 1, 2008 Posted May 1, 2008 that would suck.i really hope that doesn't happen.they're the only band that's put music out there that i really feel connected to. if that happens, it'll all be worthless.
FilmAdaptation Posted May 1, 2008 Posted May 1, 2008 id die if they didnt come back Sorry to hear about your condition, sounds tragic.
Hermione Posted May 1, 2008 Posted May 1, 2008 This thread is causing undue stress and depresssion to people! The boys will be back, mark my words
FilmAdaptation Posted May 1, 2008 Posted May 1, 2008 This thread is causing undue stress and depresssion to people! The boys will be back, mark my wordsShush. If it's causing stress, it is beneficial to them.
Hermione Posted May 1, 2008 Posted May 1, 2008 Shush. If it's causing stress, it is beneficial to them.Yeah actually I've changed my mind. I think they will defo be announcing their permanent retirement in the very near future, and will probably never be photographed or filmed in public again
Ila Reto Posted May 1, 2008 Posted May 1, 2008 This thread is causing undue stress and depresssion to people! The boys will be back, mark my wordswe're not the only ones discussing stuff about green day's recturn. i've been frantic trying to calm teenies & fans alike down!im just like "trust me, im from GDC"Yeah actually I've changed my mind. I think they will defo be announcing their permanent retirement in the very near future, and will probably never be photographed or filmed in public again thanks for keeping up the optimistic outlook hun.

armatageshanks Posted May 2, 2008 Posted May 2, 2008 yea, i think it's just fans venting their frustration about it. im pretty sure none of us would go as far as to take drastic measures.SPEAK FOR YOURSELF
Ila Reto Posted May 2, 2008 Posted May 2, 2008 SPEAK FOR YOURSELF yea wes, you'd be a one-man riot marching up to Warner/Reprise holding up signs & wearing a shirt that reads "bring back green day before i fucking bomb the studio".thats what i meant by drastic.
Trotsky Posted May 2, 2008 Posted May 2, 2008 Green Day is a fucking gold mine. Reprise would never dump them, and most every other record company would love to have them. When Green Day finishes, it will be on them, and there will be no one to protest.
GuitarPlayer5 Posted May 2, 2008 Posted May 2, 2008 I'd be upset to see Green Day leave.I'd miss going out to the local record store to buy their new album or going out to get concert tickets. Finally, I'd be PISSED!
