Ila Reto Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 so i was listening to Mother Mary for the first time in ages just now and it hit me, it's been 2 years and 5 days since we first heard of the Foxboro Hot Tubs (December 7th, 2007, forgive me if im wrong). that is amazing, where has the time gone? i remember reading it on GDA in class and completely freaking out.
Mrs. Nobody Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 2 years? fuck a doodle doo, seems like yesterdayi remember buying stop drop and roll, i was well chuffed
Sarahnade. Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 2 years? Wowy.I remember getting Stop, Drop, and Roll. It was the last copy at FYE.
Metanoia Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 I remember how fucking excited I was as a I first heard all that foxie thing.......
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 Aw I don't remember anything as I didn't even know about Green Day at the time, let alone FHT.
Sarahnade. Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 I didn't have a computer at the time, so I wasn't joined to GDC or couldn't look at GDA or anything. My friend called me and had to explain everything to me, and I was so confused/excited. She said she found the album at Walmart, so I went that day but it wasn't there. But FYE is cooler and had it. And I remember trying to say Reverend Strychnine Twitch and laughing at how random that is.
Ila Reto Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 that may have been the beginning of the best year of my life. shortly after, i joined the forum and bonded with everyone here, and then when they went on tour it just brought everyone close and closer together. Then i went out west and thta album highlighted the whole trip. and then poof news about the new album started to appear. 2008 was a crazy year for green day fans and i loved every minute of it. its so wierd though to think about all the time that has passed and everything we know now since December 2007. i look back and we were all wondering when the new album was comming out, and just wondering so many things.
Juliette Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 I can't believe it's been that long, still seems like newish music to me I remember playing those songs over and over again the night I first heard it. God and there was no 21CB anything back then either.
Metanoia Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 I remember my friend and me knowing exactly it was them and we hought it was so ridiculous to even doubt it and then after all this internet thing they confirmed it and I was so happy when I finally got s,d & r <3 I was lsitening to it the whole day and was like "FUCK YEAH !" and I was blown away by dark side of night from the begiining such a special song........ I love it those good ol times always make me go so melancholic =)
Sarahnade. Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 I can't believe it's been that long, still seems like newish music to me I remember playing those songs over and over again the night I first heard it. God and there was no 21CB anything back then either.Exactly! I remember counting down the days until 21CB. Waiting for that was like the hardest thing ever. I haven't listened to Stop, Drop, and Roll in a while; I'll have to today.
Foxboro Hot Tubs Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 I had my second year anniversary yesterday ... I mean I joined GDC two years ago and I was like .. NO WAY! cause that would mean that the Hot Tubs exist now for more than 2 years ..it's really scary how fast time goes by ...
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 2008 was a crazy year for green day fans and i loved every minute of it.Damn me for not getting into them until the end of 2008.I remember the first thing I ever saw on GDA being one of the (I think second) studio video things..So FHT never was something like "woot awesome something new *exitingexiting*" Aanyway I'll give Stop Drop and Roll!!! a listen today It surprised me I was able to find it in a shop here, it's already hard to find certain Green Day CD's in an actual shop instead of the internet, let alone that from some side band that only really Green Day fans know.
Princess Consuela Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 Woah, I'd say it's been no longer than a year... Actually, it's Foxies who brought me here And wow, I'm here for almost 2 years also...FHT are one of the best things that GD ever came up with. I can't describe how much I love them and how much I'd like to see them live.
Chelsea Hotel Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 I got Stop Drop and Roll!!! from the library, heh. Two years, my God.
catarina. Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 "All things considered, either the Network or Green Day would make excellent openers for a FBHT tour," they wrote. "Anyone know how to book a tour?"OMG YES :woot:
Snorri Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 Wow It's been just over 2 years since FHT first started and it's almost 2 years since I first started visiting GDC
