Regardless of whether it was meant to be kept a secret (no I don't think it was either), obviously they cared about the timing of information otherwise Billie wouldn't have asked him to keep it a secret. I think it's pretty awesome that Billie trusted a fan like that

I was the first person who worked for a Web site (Buzznet.com) to announce The Foxboro Hot Tubs when their Myspace first launched so I felt bad enough that I already ruined the surprise the first time! Well not all of the community is the age 14-18 female demographic who love whatever they're told to love.

Oh and for the record i dislike them for several reasons including the music which in my opinion is shit and the way i see it, Green day are using it as another way of getting recognised, earning money and bringing their band to peoples attention again, because the seemingly endless collaborations and covers they've put out in the last few years have failed miserably in my opinion.
