catarina. Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 that's why I got interested to see.how can a person possibly dance with a green day song? let alone BOBD.Luis' (the guy who sang) idea. He refused to sing anything else. Only Green Day. And he picked BOBD. The only thing we had to do was try and dance it. Maybe I'll try and dance it again. And i'll film it this time xD

Kryssi. Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 Because they were wearing the opposing piece of velcro to mine.
RebelofSuburbia Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 that's why I got interested to see.how can a person possibly dance with a green day song? let alone BOBD.heyy I'd dance to Green Day! Me and some friends did this whole dance on Muse's Supermassive Black Hole for this talentshow. We won I know Muse isn't Green Day but it's still rock music. Plus I dance my ass off at festivals and concerts anyways;Green Day have probably stuck on me because they have the wonderful ability to comfort me no matter what mood I am in.
Twenty3Eight Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 I was 15 and I saw American Idiot on a music channel. The video was awesome, which initially got my attention. I mentioned the American Idiot album to my dad and he bought me it, and once I heard the lyrics of the songs I could totally relate. I was feeling pretty suicidal at the time too and it got me through a tough time. Then, I started buying the other albums and I haven't looked back since. It's such a cheesy cliche but Green Day have helped shape the person that I am today and for that, I am forever grateful.

They made me who I am.Because they were wearing the opposing piece of velcro to mine.Hahaha. That made me smile.
sharon mitchell Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 How can a person possibly dance with a green day song? let alone BOBD.The Static Age and Last of the American Girls are perfect to dance to. The crowd went crazy with these two songs in Paris. So did II love the fact that with 21st Century Breakdown, Billie has written not just songs that you can bop to, but also proper love songs. Obviously what he wrote for the Foxies side project gave him the confidence to branch out from his usual style.Their versatility keeps me interested.

GreenDaymaniac2000 Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 I had always liked Green Day and at that time in my life I wasn't heavily into music like I am now. It all started when my brother brought home American Idiot when I was 11 and we put it on in the car, and i recogised songs like wake me up when september ends and realized that i really liked them, so i took his CD and never looked back really. They made me who I am and i can never change that. Hey, mum and dad thought it was a phaze like 4 years ago, they could never be so wrong
1039SmoothGreenDayFan Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 I learnt some Green Day songs on guitar and than my dad bought me the warning albumI loved it and a bit later American Idiot came outI continued to love them!!!
Kekumba Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 Got International Superhits as a gift in some sort of hockey party back in the day. At the time, I had a limited number of CD's, so I just kind of listened to Green Day a lot. Didn't think much of it then, it was just any other music.. and then American Idiot came out and I discovered lots more.
Ony'92 Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 why..why..why?well i don't know...when i heard "Blvd of broken dreams" first time, i was,Y'know... acevideogameadict Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 Because they tell it how it is and aren't scared to tell the truth.
Pati. Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 their lyrics, music, the fact that I can relate to them and that they are the first band I like which I never skip any of their songs.I do that mostly with any other band.I first heard Holiday and I was like wow, this band is good!I like their music! And then I did a little research and bought albums and I fell in love with them the very first second.<3
Starred Thoughts Posted June 27, 2009 Posted June 27, 2009 i had always been aware of green day's existence, but it wasn't until American Idiot that I truly fell in love. many thought I had jumped on their bandwagon, but the hard times I was going through then had allowed me to relate to this band in a way I never had related to any one particular band before. I channeled Green Day's politically charged sentiments into what I was feeling at the time - Jesus of Suburbia was [and still is] my favorite song off the album. the rest was history - my eagerness to own all of their music prompted them to be my favorite band - something that hasn't changed for five years. their older material is a preference, but I appreciate the old with the new. Ahem, excuse my rant. This thread inspired me to share this story for those of you who survived reading through it ;]
kimigd Posted June 27, 2009 Posted June 27, 2009 I don't remember when i started to listen to Green Day, but I become a big fan in 2004 when my ex-boyfriend give me his discography of the band because he didn'´t like it anymore so i started listening to all the albums and i really enjoy the music, so i started buying stuff and searching for information on internet and i join a site that is call greenday2k.net in spanish, but in 2007/8 it was not updated so i found GDA and i really love the site and then i found GDC so here i am, i dont post regulary because my english SUCKS but i understand reading it so i read the threads and all news every day here. I am going to take advantage to saying thanks for all the mods and the site admins and all the people here sorry my english really sucks haha
alaniluau Posted June 27, 2009 Posted June 27, 2009 I'd always heard of them, but never actually listened to any of their songs. I immediately fell in love with BOBD when I first heard it, so I bought American Idiot. At first I didn't like any of the songs on AI besides the one I already knew. I thought the music was too loud and fast. Then I listened to it a few more times and I thought "hmmm...this isn't so bad after all". I think what hooked me was the passion the band has. Then I rushed out and bought all the other albums and I've been in love ever since.
Ive Been Brain Stewed Posted June 28, 2009 Posted June 28, 2009 I grew up listening to Green Day, But last year i started experimenting with music, and such, and Green Day blew me away, they had something to say, they were singing about what was going on in my life, and ever since they've been with me thru everything. There's a Green Day song for every one of my moods. They put a smile on my face.
GreenDay808 Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 i'm actually really new to this. i became a fan about 2 or 3 months before 21CB came out. i heard 'holiday' and thought, "wow this song is freakin' awesome! this band has to have other great songs." so i looked them up, and turns out GREEN DAY is the best band alive! i love all their songs. lol. they're amazing.
Tiffx Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 Because they make fucking awsome music with depth that actually means something to me. Since seeing them live I fell in love.
Jack96 Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 Because they arent afraid to express themselves! and they make amazing songs
viva_la_gloria Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 i saw the video of "american idiot" on tv right after it came out and i loved it! (still do ) i bought the album and loved every single song on it so i started researching on the internet, read articles about them, watched interviews, etc. and bought their other albums too of course!i was really kinda obsessed with them at that time! everyone knew i liked them, because i talked about them a lot, i continuously listened to their music and started dressing like them  i'm not that crazy anymore, but they're still my favourite band! i love the lyrics, i could relate to them in so many situations. i definitely owe the guys because their music helped me going through a tough time, american idiot really was this life-changing album for me and i doubt that any other album will ever have the same impact on me (sounds a little dramatic, i know, but i honestly think that).
Spaztic Plastic Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 When I first heard them, they were the only thing that really made me feel liberated and exhilerated at a young age. I've been a fan ever since and that feeling has never left. They write music with depth, and that's a rarity in these days.
