ive watched both of those on youtube. i almost cried shes so bad. im not a crier either. she doesnt have enough energy or jumpy around-nes to cover a green day song. BJ runs around jumps everywhere plays guitar and sings all at once and Avril just stands there... :down: shes not a very good singer either but thats just my opinion.

I totally agree with you.

I mean -- I don't even think she can play the guitar well because if she could then she would've played the guitar part in Basket Case, but instead she just decided to embarress herself by pretending to strum a guitar the whole time, while the guy behind her played the guitar part. And it's not like Basket Case is THAT hard of a song to play on the guitar.

And I agree. She just stood there! She didn't move an inch, and I could have swore I heard her mess up on the lyrics a little bit, but everyone makes that mistake.......even Billie, and he's the one that wrote the songs.

Well...no. I don't hate Avril Lavigne's cover just because that it's her. I hate it because the covers really are that bad to the point of making me cringe. I actually used to be a fan of her's when I was really little.

I'm jumping on the bandwagon and saying Avril's covers.

But...I really, really liked the Weezer cover. They changed it up and made it their own, which is what, in my opinion, you should aim for in a cover. They didn't follow it chord for chord, they didn't try to be Green Day, and I thought they did a damn good job.

Yeah Avril's was too pop, FOB's was more rock/punk rock, which is why i prefer it. And, from what i remember, they jazzed the final chorus up a bit, amde it their own.
