I still have my old turntable, and around 500+LP's. I'm dating myself now.LOL My teenage son gets a kick out of playing it every now and then.

We have one too, attached to our ancient stereo and still have lots of old records. Haven't played it in ages, not sure if it even works anymore. My daughter gets a kick out of it too - the first time she saw a record album, she didn't know what it was, lol!

I was listening to Ruby Room this morning, and I finally realised why it sounded familiar...the guitar part sounds almost identical to Private Hell, the song Green Day did with Iggy Pop. Same chords and everything.

you people may already know, but i'll say it anyway just in case it has been buried in this thread: the FHT MySpace has been updated (with 2 band pictures and a few new friends-all with mary in their name) but more interestingly their website has returned to the clock...

Ok, Red Tide is my fav song I think. It' my fav but it is the one that disturbs me the most. Why? Like I stated yesterday it sounds like he is singing while getting a blow job. And second, what exactly is a 'Red Tide'? Me and my friends think he is talking about Adrienne's 'time of the month' because of the lyrics 'Is this passion or, your Red Tide?' We think he is asking if she is really 'passionate' and wanting to get it on, or if she is just all hormonal and stuff

My take on it is that its about changes of life, moving forward realising your summer has gone, moving into the next phase of your life. That insecure feeling we have when we realise we're getting older and there's nothing we can do about it.

The summer loses power etc...

Foxboro sounds a lot like the rockabilly band Stray Cats, which were favourites of mine when I was really young --- Like since I was born pretty much, since my Mum used to listen to them a lot on her stereo. XD; I think she's got the Built For Speed album, which came out in 1982.

So yeah, another reason to love Foxboro. XD

I thought the same about Red Tide, and so did my friend. And that would make it even more endearing XD. But I think it has a multitude of possible interpretations and we might have no idea as to why he actually called it what he did... though I don't tink it would be about a specific woman, necessarily. Like maybe it would be written for one, but it would be from a generic perspective if that makes sense.

That's my take on it too. In any case, Billie sounds absolutely delicious in that song. I mean his voice is soooooo sensuous and sexy. Simply orgasmic. That is one I'd like to see live, then we'd see Billie get down and dirty.
