I kind of have a different theory. And remeber, it's just a theory. Remember when The Network site went down for several months, and then came back with pretty much nothing new? Maybe they were going to put out new Network material, but then decided against it. They might have been like, "You know what, fuck it. Everybody already knows we're The Network, let's just do new side material as a new outfit." Thinking that they could maybe fool us, which is maybe why it's kinda hard to recognize Billie's voice on some points, while other times, it sounds just like him. Maybe it's just some of the extra material that they wrote that was decent, but didn't fit into the direction they're going with their new Green Day album. Who knows? But I'm kind of leaning on to the side that it's them.

That's a really good theory, and it's probably right. Wouldn't surprise me the least bit.

The whole, stuff from the new album that didn't fit the direction they were going in kinda upsets me, although chances are it's true. I mean, Blink 182 did the same thing with Boxcar Racer. It would upset me though, because I love albums where they don't really go in a direction. Like Nimrod, and kinda Warning.

I already figured this out, but someone on myspace provived the evidence.

"Look what I found!

Billie Joe will be contributing in a band which Tim Armstrong created:

On January 19th, 2007, Tim Armstrong announced that he and some of his good friends will be working on a small recording project and tour, made to benefit many of the poor sections of Indonesia. No songs or tour dates have been announced as of yet.

He decided to begin working on benefit recordings and concerts due to his recent travels to Jakarta and other sects in the country. After discovering that Indonesia is the fourth largest country in population, and that half of the country's citizens live on less than $2 a day. He states that he was captivated by the people and the culture of the country, and that he is attempting to do whatever he can to help raise awareness and help benefit the country's economic resources and funds.

So far, Tim Armstrong has recruited all current Rancid members (Lars Frederiksen, Matt Freeman, Brandon Steineckert) as well as Billie Joe Armstrong (Green Day, Pinhead Gunpowder), Travis Barker (blink-182, +44) and Vic Ruggiero (The Slackers). Rumour speculates that other artists such as Rob Aston (Transplants), Tre Cool (Green Day), Craig Fairbaugh (+44) and Davey Havok (AFI) will also contribute.

Tim Armstrong - Vocals, Guitar, Harmonica

Billie Joe Armstrong - Guitar, Vocals

Lars Frederiksen - Guitar, Vocals

Matt Freeman - Bass, Backing Vocals

Vic Ruggiero - Keyboards, Backing Vocals

Travis Barker - Drums

Brandon Steineckert - Percussion"

This is very probably the band aforementioned.

Meh, I'm not convinced it's any of them. 50s music still rocks!

If it was some kind of project made for charity, they would be open about their identities and cause for it.

Now that I've finally heard Foxboro Hot Tubs, I can give a valid opinion. I haven't a clue if Mike or Tre are in the band, but I have no doubts whatsoever that the singer is Billie Joe.

Yeah, that many big names involved would get a hell of a lot of attention. If it was the charity project, they'd have their names all over it, and we'd have heard much more about it.

And the vocals all seem to be Billie..

The one guitar solo in Stop Drop and Roll, is one of the best he's ever done, (assuming it's Billie)

Haha, is it bad that I've listened to those 3 songs repeatedly for the past half hour? They're really great, and I can't seem to get enough of them. Can't wait until the six song album is available to download.
