I am wondering if the rumour that the music that was played under the name of "the network" but was originally intended to be a green day album is true.

Ive been listening to them for lik 13 years i know their guitar sounds and styles, bass and styles, drum sounds and styles and green day are just overall one of the tightest sounding bands ever. and this sounds EXACTLY the same as green day and is obviousley all 3 of them.

well I did a search on foxboro and green day on itunes and the only thing that I came up with was they did a show in foxboro massachusetts, specifically a WMUWSE single was on itunes. I don't think that has to do anything with the band, but I just thought it was kind of interesting.

i think u misunderstood what i said. i know the music is different i mean the guitar sounds, like the tones etc. its pretty much the same guitar SOUND as warning. and its billie typical down stroke guitar playing and tre's typical keith moon tom fills etc.

Whether this be any or all of the members of Green Day or not, I don't care. I really like what I hear. Whoever this band is, they're great. I personally think it's the members of Green Day. At least Billie. The back-up vocals do sound like Mike too though.

If this band does indeed consist of members of Green Day, there are a few possibilities of why this band exsists.

Either:

1. Green Day wanted to try something new, but wanted to see how fans felt about it because they couldn't decide exactly what they wanted to do. So they realeased this under a random band name to see how fans like it. If they generally like it, then maybe they'd decide to take this direction on the new album.

2. Maybe it's just another side project.

3. It could be since it's different than what Green Day typically does, they wanted to try something new without it actually being Green Day. Maybe they wanted kind of a... I don't know, different personality. (that's bad wording, I can't think of the correct words right now.) Yeah, they have The Network, but The Network are different than both this band and Green Day.

4. Maybe they want a little break from the massive level of fame they've reached.

I'm sure my reasons are probably wrong, if it even is the members of Green Day, but it's just a few of my thoughts.

Billie's much better. his scream is sexier. And Green Day wouldn't leak songs via Myspace.

It's catchy music, but not very GD.
