this isnt isnt about an original song. its about a collaboration. its about them doing it in support of those who lost everything because of hurricace Katrina. two of the most popular bands.... two hugely successful bands.. who obviously like each other... decided to get together to help others via the medium they feel most comfortable with.

they have been nominated for this because of the reason why they did this in the first place... and because a hell of a lot of people actually got it.. and enjoyed what they did.

sorry, but for me.. the reason they did this was well.. I dont have words for it. but to have two of my all time favourtie bands work together, despite a huge part of the fan base saying its stupid... I love watching people like these guys working together despite it being a supposedly uncool union. I love the fact that they all keep doing what they want to rather than what fans want/expect them to.

Seeing as the category is 'best performance', it's irrelevant whether it's a cover or not, it's the interpretation that counts. Anyway, I love GD's take on Working Class Hero, and I'm sure that if they were to win, John Lennon would be getting all the credit from them.
