And then she heard the new signle KYE and was like, "HEY! I downloaded their cds"

She did that in ONE DAY.

Introducing Green Day to friends is like pulling teeth literally. I guess I 'm the only one who cares about them more than the others but some of them admitted that their a good band ... so I guess I helped in that aspect.

Most of my friends hate decent music, so I don't bother with them. One of my other friends, though, always asks me to suggest songs for her to buy. I started off by giving her GD songs I think she would enjoy (in this case, Good Riddance, Restless Heart Syndrome, and 21 Guns), and hopefully she'll like those enough to look at more. So if you know your friends' tastes in music, give them GD songs that relate to that.

I may have to just give up on my friends. They are utter failures in the music area. I keep trying to shove Green Day in their faces, but they won't listen to me. >.< I play them stuff all the time and they ignore me. So whatever. I don't mind being the only crazed fan in the group. Much. Haha.

I owe my soul to on of my friends, though. I only knew AI, and I was going through a friend's CDs, and she had International Superhits, and I borrowed it and totally fell in love. ISH was the reason I decided to listen to their older stuff. Wow, I should go thank her! I totally just remembered that, I'd really forgotten! Its only been five years since I've been into Green Day and its already hard to remember how it all started for me!

But with my friends, I've tried 21 Guns, Who Wrote Holden Caulfield, JOS.......they only like BOBD, Good Riddance, and WMUWSE. The new stuff. I hate those silly children sometimes, haha. It's unfathomable to me that someone can not like every Green Day song ever, so maybe I'm just biased. Oh well.

Ha my friends don't care about Green Day and I'm not bothered. I converted my sister to Green Day though . I'd been obsessed with them for about a year and I wanted to pass on their awesomeness so I kept playing them to her. She tells me now that she'd just assumed they were like Blink 182 or Sum 41 so she thought I was crazy to like them. She thought they were a boring "yeah dude lets party!" band and didn't know about their quirks.

But then I showed her a bit of BIAB and she seemed impressed, and she read the fabulous Kerplunk Laurie L. story and loved it, so I was able to persuade her to borrow a couple of albums. Sitting down to listen to the first one, Warning, she still thought they were a pretty straightforward band. But then she heard Blood Sex and Booze and WHOA what the fuck is this , this band is different after all! She tells me that's what got her hooked.

Years of Green Day fun ensued, and we're going to see them live for the first time in October

Maybe she should have listened to them herself and made up her own mind. She could have missed out on so many good bands because people said they sucked.

We all have different musical taste so one band we think may suck someone else will love.

Aye, I have yet to covert anyone to Green Day. Can't say I haven't been trying. I've tried converting my entire family and my friends all think I'm obsessed. But I did get my friend to like a couple of thier songs though and that was nice but she never really became a fan. So I failed.

They haven't realized thier awesomeness just yet.

i'd show them a live video of them. it's very important for a band to be able to have a great live show, to know how to entertain the audience, and last but not least, to be capable to play live at least decently. and green day are the best band at doing those things. so yeah, that would be the best way to determine someone to take a listen to my my favorite band.

My friend is really into classical music. He wanted good music to listen to so I recommended Green Day, even though I doubted he'd be really into it. However, he downloaded () all their albums, loved American Idiot, and now I see him constantly on the train or in class listening to Green Day (and not JUST American Idiot, thankfully). Calls them his favorite band too.

I've introduced them to everybody, and nearly everybody that's listened to them, really likes them. I think I've told the story before on here probably, but Misery is the song that hooked most of my friends. I was playing it at a party and we were out playing badminton and one of my friends was dancing around to it. He asked who it was, and he didn't believe me when I told him it was Green Day. He had heard of them and everything, but didn't really know them. Then I made him some mixed cd's, and he recognized some of the songs, and knew who they were and just fell in love. My whole group of friends did, my best friend ende dup buying all of their cd's lol that was awesome. But really, it's good music, and you can't argue with good music.

I'm pretty sure I do the same thing when I'm really on a GD kick. Especially my family, cause most of my friends like GD to a degree, some as much as I do. But people are amazed that I don't get tired of them.

My friends are all into shitty pop music and Paramore :down: I think that if i was too start trying to get them into Green Day, I would start with their softer songs like Good Riddance, Wake Me Up When September Ends etc, and then if they liked those songs I would try some other ones like American Idiot and Holiday. But I doubt if they would like them.
