Dude, 70's music totally rocks. If I had to choose, I'd listen to 70's music over today's music any day of the week. Except Sunday. I like my gospel music in church.

I reckon! 70's is awesome, apart from the whole rock scene like acdc, i absolutely am guilty of likeing disco aswell :woot::lol:

i have a friend that lives a veeeery closed world so i burned her AI and she said "i don't really prefer rock music but i do love that first track (American Idiot)"

and then i expanded my friend's idea of Green Day by burning them International Superhits!

and then i wrote my reserch paper on Green Day so my english teacher got an idea from that

I suppose I'd let them listen to ISH.

I wouldn't make anyone who already had decided they didn't like them listen though.

It would be just another oppurtunity for them to go on about how much Green Day sucks...

Guest Phoebe.

I was converted by my mate Imo, we went to IKEA once when we first became friends, with her mum. We listened to ISH in the car. I had a great time.

I probably wouldn't introduce my friends to GD (except maybe my guy friends), they'd turn up in the same kinda shit that I wear on own clothes day, going on about how "punk" they are. Anyway, I'd probably use Nimrod, because there's at least one song on there that someone likes, because there's such a mixture of soft stuff & harder stuff.

And then there's the fact that whatever track I make them listen to, they all say that GD suck.

I played AI to a few of my friends who said they didn't like Green Day back in the day *puffs pipe* then we went round Disneyland Paris singing (shouting? :ermm: ) AI to French people.

I tried to introduce Green Day to my friends when I first became a fan. Now that was 9 years ago when the world was gripped on Spice Girl fever etc..they were having none of it. I was ''weird'' apparently!

i've tried...it didn't go so well...

they can listen to it, but it does not mean anything to them...

and it means a lot to me...so i think i'll just keep it to myself...

I'd begin with Dookie, that's my favorite album. Actually almost all people around me like AI, but dislike other albums. :/ So you can begin with this one too.

My sister used to think I was crazy liking GD but when she listened to AI she suddenly fell out of her stupid 'I have to go with what everyone else likes' trance and put all the songs on her MP3 player.

My friends don't like Green Day because all they think it is, is American Idiot. So I'd show them the older stuff.

One of my bestfriend had borrowed American Idiot from me, and now she loves them too.

One of my other friends watched Bullet in a bible with me, and thought that they were awesome guys.

My friends don't like Green Day because of AI... But that's because they don't know older stuff. I'd have started from Insomniac if they had let me.

Err, I just say 'you should listen to that song', sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. My best friend is a Green Day fan, so I get to freak with her. I don't know, we talk about music, mostly the singles or our favourite bands.

pff... i don't care, we respect eachother and they don't have to listen to Green Day, whatever.

I've played them for a few of my friends, but I don't think any of them were too impressed!

I introduced my friend (who likes classic rock and some grunge stuff) to Green Day and I sent her some old stuff. She said it was too basic (she's into amazing drum fills and heavy guitar solos a la Guns N Roses) so I sent her some stuff off Warning. She much prefered it to their older stuff. I tried to send her what she would see as "interesting" ie with solos and unusual rythms and techniques and stuff. But she still hates Green Day, haha. Tard.

Well most of the friends I know don't like Green Day, but if I had a friend that didn't I guess I would just sorta put on some Green Day one day, like Basket Case or Longview or something that most people seem to like, and see if they like it or ask me who the band is or what CD it is.

This made me laugh. All my friends despise Green Day with a passion, they're all metallers or chavs or people who just don't like music or...the worst...people who just listen to whatever music is trendy at the moment.

Dammit

As long s my friends have known me they have known I have been a big Green Day fan but they never really showed and interest, my friend Ian started liking them because he used to come 'round my house all of the time and it was around the time Warning came out and he fell in love with Minority and he has been a fan ever since!
