For goodness sakes they were raising awareness of the public to buy instant karma when it is released. Which in fact will raise money for the charity. So tell me again, why that is a problem? It seems to me that Green Day was using American Idol to reach millions of people. How is that a bad thing? I mean seriously. Some of you people are just retards. :/

With today's teens (face it, adults who listen to music with messages DON'T watch American Idol often) they look for the performance over the lyrics. I am willing to bet that millions of people changed the channal during the performance because it was so bland and bleak. Of course, thousands, millions will go out and donate money and buy the album because they listened, but still, todays mass likes the performance, which is...umm... a HUGE reason Green Day is considered one of the best live acts.
