Billie... Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 I don't think Green Day will ever lose a real fan
FOD Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 For me it's more for youthfull punk bands that hardly any one has heard of. But I still love Green Day.
haushinkapritchard Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 Well in my opinion the only green day fans we are losing arent fans at all, they are just kids who move to the next big thing...it happens with everything from tv shows, to fashion, to music. And its not much of a loss if they werent real fans in the first placeI guess this "loss of fans" happens with every bandbut it seems to happen a lot with green day, i suppose just because of all the play the got on radio and tv they picked up alot of these "fans" who then leave once theyre outta the spotlight a little...I personally have never lost interest in them since i first started listening to them...Theyll win alot of these "fans" back with the next album but just like it is now theyll slowly start moving away from them...Its funny because especially on a "certain website i used to go on" It was like some of the older people who have a higher post count and stuff would say "oh green day are shit" and they would practically have a fit if someone mentioned them even though its a green day "fan" site...then all the rest of the younger people who worship them would be like "yeah they suck"...and obviously since Green Day gained alot of these "fans" who are very young(theres nothing wrong with that, Im only 13) and they are easily influenced so of course they are going to move onto whatever everyone else is loving at the moment...But they'll be back
Billie'sgirl Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 HIM is a punk band?!nope its more like gothic rock i think but i like them very much aswell the rasmus they aresimilar band
Vilma Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 nope its more like gothic rock i think but i like them very much aswell the rasmus they aresimilar bandI meant that HIM is not a punk band... whatever Do you know any other bands from Finland?
freakyprincess Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 well, yeah many ''gd fans'' are selling out but I believe that the true ones will always stay loyal fans and will always support green day
GNRAGE_2010 Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 well they are mainstream emo, to emo to be mainstream and to mainstream to be emoI think FAll Out Boy is trying to be emo but are kind of failing at it.
LibertyBelle. Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 ^ I thought they denied being "emo" or whatever you wanna call it?And does it matter if a bands "mainstream" or not? :/ i dont think it does.
Billie'sgirl Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 I meant that HIM is not a punk band... whatever Do you know any other bands from Finland?well not very nuch just him and the rasmus but i luv both bands you are from finland right what otherbands are from finland?
randomness Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 there are more posts in this thread discussing what genre MCR/FOB/HIM fit into than ones answering the actual question.
One Lite 1 Mind Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 there are more posts in this thread discussing what genre MCR/FOB/HIM fit into than ones answering the actual question.Lmao, now it's getting a little annoying... and I think the question was answered pages ago.
annie Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 The last time i listened to Green Day was, funnily enough, at an MCR gig when they played Basket Case over the speakers during set up. It was great cause i hadn't heard it in a while. They played it during set up at the MCR concert I went to, too! Everyone started singing along!
Carissa Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 For me, I'm not loosing interest in Green Day, I'm gaining interest in other bands. So I'm listening to other bands and other genres, not like when I first got into Green Day and they were the only music I would listen too.
xxx Sarah xxx Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 I had an internet friend who used to be obsessed with GD, and then turned MCR. Unforgivable DOWN WITH MODERN TEENIE BOPPER MUSIC
One Lite 1 Mind Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 I had an internet friend who used to be obsessed with GD, and then turned MCR. Unforgivable DOWN WITH MODERN TEENIE BOPPER MUSICShe just might be into them for the time being though, because like everyone else said, Green Day don't have any new music out right now.I love MCR and GD... I am not going to stop being any of their fans, but right now GD has no new music. I get bored with listening to the same thing all of the time and I need some variety.
jesus the rage guy Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 I love MCR and GD... I am not going to stop being any of their fans, but right now GD has no new music. I get bored with listening to the same thing all of the time and I need some variety.the funny thing is that i like to listen mcr but i have no albums of them yet agree again with you
Allie 888 Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 nope its more like gothic rock i think but i like them very much aswell the rasmus they aresimilar bandHaha. Exactly what I was thinking. HIM's good, though. Nowhere near as good as Green Day, though.Sure, a couple people are losing interest in Green Day, but only the people who only liked one or two of their hits off of American Idiot.
woven_basketcase Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 I had an internet friend who used to be obsessed with GD, and then turned MCR. Unforgivable DOWN WITH MODERN TEENIE BOPPER MUSICso whats Green Day? breakfast?i still don't get why you can't be a 'true' Green Day fan, and like other bands more.just because they aren't your number one 'i'm so obsessed with them' band doesn't mean you aren't a true fan. it just means you know more music than Green Day. they aren't loosing fans. from what people are saying in this thread, it looks like fans are just loosing brains.
