Bittersweet.

"It was a big, dumb pop record..."

"the moronic... Basketcase."

Hm. Thanks for the scans.

Yeah, both of those statements jumped out at me, too - let me just say that 'dumb' and 'moronic' are not terms that apply to any Green Day song. On the other hand, they can be applied to many rock journalists, lol!

Hey, that's cool. I'd love a rock encyclopedia, wonder if my local book shop has them for sale? hmm.

I'm pretty sure I've read something like that before in my school library back in the day, except it was about them at woodstock

there were more mistakes, as far as i've learned Dookie was released in 1994, not 1993 as it says in the article, and American Idiot in 2004 (they corrected that later in the article though) and why didn't Mike get his full birth name on print, like Tre got...

PS: i know it's a really old thread, but it came up by random searching, and i'm really bored

Great scans - thanks

Well I'd never seen that before.

 What a totally retarded article, sounds like it was written by someone who knows absolutely nothing about (and hates) Green Day. A trained chimp could've cobbled it together better.

I was thinking the same thing after i read the first few lines. >.<

wow, you really were bored.

well for one thing, it's an Encyclopedia, not an article. an encyclopedia is a reference. remember that. i know i made that mistake in the first post but now i know.

and (since the thread came up) i learned that they didn't give great details for everyone mentioned, it basically gave basic info about a band.

but hey, at least they got 2 pages of credit, unlike some other bands that only got 1 paragraph.

pardon me,

i thought the scans were fine :) you can read them fine. that's what matters.

i meant the encyclopedias material was not perfect.

just clarifying.

well a lot of my friends were complaining about the fuzzy-ness so i kind of would figure...

oh yeah, i think i said this earlier: i learned that they didn't give great details for everyone mentioned, it basically gave the basic info about a band. so it's not just Green Day, they did that to some other bands.
