Well, I think it's definitely them. It would be really cool if they played a part in the movie (like The Who did on an episode). A great surprise for all the fans it would be! :thumbsup:

I have seen countless trailers and there was stuff in the trailer that didn't make the movie.

Same here . . . and it happens a little too often, I think. But I doubt everyone will go and see the movie just to see the clip of Green Day anyway. I would go and see the movie just because it's the Simpsons (not on the first weekend though, that'll be insane!!).

'If you possess eagle-eye vision (or a super-slo-mo button,) you may have already been able to make out none other than Green Day in the just-released trailer for this summer's "The Simpsons Movie." The trio are shown performing on what looks to be a capsizing stage. A spokesperson for 20th Century Fox wouldn't confirm anything, but according to the band's rep at Warner Bros./ Reprise, the erstwhile American Idiots do appear in the film and will even have a song featured. It's not clear if the tune will be something written specifically for the Simpsons' flick, which hits theaters July 27. ...'

It's looking pretty cool so far :thumbsup:

I'm VERY sure they do, like when Smashing Pumpkins were in one episode, U2, or even N*Sync.

If Green Day did their voices for the movie, a) it would be listed on imdb.com's thing on the movie, and their Press-manager would have said something. We would have known before this past week

EDIT: but that MTV thing makes it sound otherwise and a promicing thing. We'll need to wait and see. I think it'd be cool if they did a re-vamped version of the Intro to the movie or something

wow, when i saw the preview i was really excited.

that would be so awesome if it was them, but im not going to get my hopes up. Bad things tend to happen when i do that..

green day did an episode of king of the hill. Im sure they will be in the Simpsons movie. Why else would they have them look like them but not do the voices??

They've said before in an interview that they wouldn't do The Simpsons, that it'd more like something the Red Hot Chilli Peppers would do.

heh, i hope for alllll your sakes that the song featured in the movie, ISN'T one written specifically for it. Alot of bands get shit for doing that kinda thing, especially for adverts and the like. Everyone is shitting on Green Day, it'd just be another excuse right?

if people want to bitch about something the band do, they`ll bitch about anything. I very much doubt the band would give a stuff what anybody says about it whether it was written for the movie or just one of their older songs that they have given permission to be used in this.

The Simpsons are a bigger part of popular culture than Green Day, that's not even debatable.

They don't NEED to have guest stars throughout a whole movie to have it be exciting. Most likely they'll have a minute of screentime.

Which is good, this is the Simpsons movie not the Green Day movie.

When they have bands on, they usually do have just a few lines of dialogue at least.

Usually it goes something like:

Homer: Hello (celebrity guest star)

Celebrity: Hey there

Homer: (some joke)

Celebrity: (continues the joke)

(band continues playing song)

Just like when Blink 182 were on the 300th episode. They only had about 1 line each.
