whatsername131 Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 i was the biggest loser i was really preppy and only wore pink (fyi: i h8 pink now i cant stand it and i basically only wear black) and i like the backstreet boys and all those other loser bands like outcast and stuff omg im so ashamed i like to claim that i was born a green day fan but sadly its not true
facE Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 i listened to the radio. and yes i liked loved the backstreetboys, and i still do. i also listened to savage garden and shaniah twain. haha. but i also listened to some of my dads music like elvis, the beatles acdc, iron maiden and other 80s kinda bands. so yeah, then came green day and that pretty much opened me up to a new class of music and bands.
PotatoSkin Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 Does anyone remember wave, soul decision, or b44? those were some legendary groups, man.
a_girl_called_kill66 Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 yeah.. i was in the awkward music stage so i used to listen to all the oldies... pop stuff from the sixties my mom would always play. my favorite song was "downtown".i listened to the radio. and yes i liked loved the backstreetboys, and i still do.i was in second grade when they hit really big... it was really weird. now i look at them and go, man, that was so second grade!
mechanicalman Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 Green Day were the first band I really liked.
giant_teabag Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 well before Green Day I almost only listened to a swedish band called Kent. but GD was the first band I really really liked. and their music opened up a whole new world for me
Totally obsessed Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 Oh god... it was all pop crap like Busted and McFly Green Day really did change my life... cos once I discovered them it changed the way I dressed, my opinions on things, my outlook on life, it made me get back into song writing and teach myself guitar, as well changing my music taste to punk/rock. they're the first and probably only band I will ever be this obsessed with... and I know I'll never forget them or stop listening to their music even when I'm 90 or whatever
creeping jesus Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 i dont wanna go into it cos green day r the ones who made me change to a different music... like i used to listen to hilary duff and eninem and britney spears... i guess its k cos i was 11 and yer... god i used to like nsync!
Nedra Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 My music went like this:Really little:BostonEaglesGenesisCCR(Stuff my parents gave me)to shit like... just stuff on the radio, POD, Eminem , that queer dude with the dreadlocks. Then I got into Blink 182, and then Green Day, and other rock bands after that
beat the sYstem Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 eugh. before i listened to green day.. i dont remember. i loved nirvana, they were like the only rock band i listened to. i used to bum s club 7.serious, i liked generic cheesey pop music. ahh well. i got into that awkward "im not really into music" stage. green day were the band that made me listen to music. like, real music.
anarcho_punk16 Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 Ive loved green day since i was really little. they were one of my cousin's favourite bands so ive known them since like the Nimrod days, man. Thefirst song i heard was the grouch and i was hooked. but before greenday, i was into like mxpx, nofx and a bunch of other stuff. I was into alot more like pop punk bands like sum 41 then too.
shalane Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 before I listen to everything. I grow up with Nirvana, RHCP, U2, metallica blabla (tis listen to them)but now I only listen to Rock/ Punk rock
wellingtonsarecool Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 Lots of stuff, i really liked The White Stripes when they came out with Elephant. Still do like The White Stripes, I just like Green Day more, but i still listen to lots of stuff. More than before.
123 Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, The Who and that sort of stuff all from my parents. On my own I listened to Sum 41 and sugarcult introduced by my cousin. And all the bands on the Tony Hawk video games hahah.Green Day started my whole intrest in music and I would be not even close to what I would be now without them.
saurus Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 I was kinda in an awkward/confused music stage, where music wasn't really that important to me. Which is like, completely the opposite of now.Same as... I mean people would ask me what CD to get me for my birthday or xmas and I wouldnt know... I didnt "know" music, I guess I listened to the radio.... oooh then there was my S Club 7 phase.... I guess I also listened to what my parents listened too... Bon Jovi Green Day kinda introduced me to music in a weird way... i was bout 11 or 12 when i first heard them I think, so yeah.... life before Green Day was scary... I was a nothing person...
snaredrummer9 Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Moby and New Found Glory .
trehwy726 Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 Simple Plan, Avril Lavigne, Good Charlotte. I used to listen to a few rock/alternative rock artists, as well as country (still listen to them today), but when "American Idiot" came out, my interest in punk rock music has increased exponentially. I still like the band Green Day, but I only listen to their music in "smaller occasions". Do you people think Punk music is a "commodity"? That's how I define it. I need to have a very decent and free-flowing supply of Punk music in my head.
Loser_Kid Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 i wasn't really interessed in music before found out about green day and rock music. I listened to some "populair" music but i care about it or anything. Ow and i have a cd of the backstreet boys i got for my ...birthdag
annie Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 Nothing, really. I was never really "into" music, I just listened to the radio and didn't have a favorite band or anything. Then I got into Green Day and that made me start listening to a bunch of other bands.
