NickD Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 I want them to call it Chinese Democracy and see what G'n'R say. Kinda like how the Offspring attempted it, but got scared at any reaction from Axl and co.

AustralianFan Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 I cant wait, im curious to see what its like.
localinsomniac Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 Someone might have said this already, but is there a possibility of Green Day releasing a double album? We can only hope! There were rumors about that before nimrod came out, and it just ended up that they had two albums' worth of material with which to work. I would love to see them do a System of a Down kind of thing where they have a two albums similar in theme released about six months apart.Ten bucks says one of those albums becomes Cigarettes and valentinesI found this online:"Green day is making three new cd's and the first one is called "Tommy Gun" and the second one is called "World Come Home" and the third one is called "Keep On" suppsedly they are called that. Who knows until it comes out? "There's no way this is true. I still see Cigarettes & Valentines as being the Network record. But does anybody remember sometime early 2004 when AbsolutePunk.net posted a full tracklist to a new Green Day album called Generator? Now that I think about it, that tracklist probably came from the Bad Religion record of the same name.
marie86 Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 i think they're making 3 VERY DIFFERENT albums--and figuring out which songs should go on which--which album is the best and thats the one they will release.i've been waiting soooooo long for this and i hope that no matter what album they choose to release it will be GREAT.it would be kinda cool for it to be different than american idioti wonder if green day will have new fans when they do release iti also wonder if the songs will be on the radio ALL THE TIME like the american idiot album.wow i just cant waitand new album means TOURING!i've been saving up money for two years to get really great seats.....
Jose Luis Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 as the title says, they're making 3 albums WORTH of new material
MusicalDeviant Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 well, hes prob telling bullshit .I probably am telling bullshit. I don't really believe it to be true, but I'm trying to gather as much information as possible, so I'm just posting what I find.Cigarettes and Valentines didn't just disappear........albums don't just disappear and never resurface. That wouldn't make sense.I have a theory (and a great scene for the AI movie) that Rob Cavallo was so disappointed with Cigarettes and Valentines that he erased all the master tapes because he knew Green Day was capable of true greatness, and so they made American Idiot.Green Day then claimed to have it stolen so that they could bypass whether or not the album was any good at all (which it might not have been).Studios are well guarded and have security cameras. Albums don't get stolen, they just disappear from sight.
armatageshanks Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 anybody ever heard of the band guided by voices?they write like 50 songs for each album and then continue to recycle the unused songs for the next album and etc.green day could be doing that.or somebody's bullshitting us.
NickD Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 anybody ever heard of the band guided by voices?they write like 50 songs for each album and then continue to recycle the unused songs for the next album and etc.green day could be doing that.or somebody's bullshitting us.Exactly. Does anyone remember the number of songs written for Nimrod? 78(or was it 68? one of the two). How many were used?3 albums worth of material means nothing, except that they are working on an album
localinsomniac Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 Exactly. Does anyone remember the number of songs written for Nimrod? 78(or was it 68? one of the two). How many were used?3 albums worth of material means nothing, except that they are working on an albumThey began the sessions with 35 and then wrote another 20-some-odd tunes in-studio. That's the point I was trying to make earlier. They had more than more an enough material for a double album, but that didn't mean it was going to be a double album.
Mrs. Nobody Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 Yeah finally some ahem.. news. But whatever they do, they rock, so I don't care if they take their time, even if I am an impatient BIP.
Sunshine2385 Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 I don't want it to sound anything like the previous records because that's just boring. I love the sound on WCH I think that's super awesome. IDk it's up to them. it b cool if they attempted some genres they haven't done before and blended it w/ some good rock and roll. and actually some duets here and there wouldn't be so bad either.
