Green Day has 3 albums worth of new material

ok..has it been mentioned anywhere that Green Day are releasing 3 ACTUAL ALBUMS??....all ive heard is that they have 3 ALBUMS WORTH OF SONGS!!! Which means they just have alot more to choose from...Are people just getting confused with the whole "3 albums" thing???...bcos i know whats going to happen...they will only release one album...then everyone will be like ' what happened to the other 2? '....im just confused!!

When making an album, most bands record as many song demos as they can (eg for their latest album, Linkin Park demoed 100 new songs, and picked the best 15) and pick the best ones to record properly.

And believing in rumours makes you an idiot.

If they release 3 albums at the same time, that's a hell of an event!

I doubt it actually means they will release a triple cd, most bands record tons of songs and then pick the few they are most happiest with

...But Billie Joe did say one set of songs is like a crazy sandanista album or something

I doubt they'll make three new albums, unless they do a thing like Stadium Arcadium by Red Hot Chili Peppers. They had two albums with fourteen songs each.

I think there will be one ablum because the only said "we have 3 ablums worth". So they will mostly likely just put the best song on ther. It's like Nimrod..they had like the same issues there...i just hope it's worth the wait...but i'm sure it will be...cuz Green Day rocks my socks off!

:/ I doubt that'd happen, i think they'll carry on with the AI stuff...at least that's the direction i think their going in judging by interveiws and stuff. They did to well with AI i guess.

In an recentish interview they said they wanted to put A.I behind it and not keep trying to repeat that success...

I dunno if they are gonna do the same as AI...i can't remember what interview it was (i'll post it here when i find it) but they said that they were gonna go back to their punk roots with their next CD...they said they wanna do something like "Insomniac" only their gonna reconstruct it into something better...so what ever i'm sure what ever it is it will rock our socks off...anyway even if it blows we'll find something good about it (as other ppl have already said).

And i think it's only gonna be one CD....not 3...they said they had 3 ablums worth..not that they are gonna make 3...

Yeah By The Way was released in 2002 and Stadium in 2006 so they had time to make two albums.AI was in 2004 so they can make two or three albums in one till 2008.

I don't see the problem with Green Day releasing a double album then. They are having enough of time in between. Stop doing all of the fucking side shit, and work on the new album that was really supposed to be ou by the end of this year, which now I highly doubt.

The expectation and pressure of having to follow-up AI could be overwhelming if Billie let it. I hope he's been able to approach the album with the perspective that success has also earned him the freedom to take risks, with both the writing and production of the new material. I'm not sure if it's been confirmed Cavallo is producing but assuming he is, it would have been a great opportunity to work with someone new and shake things up. I'd like to hear something grittier and less polished regardless of whether it's "straight" punk or not.
