catholichornet Posted September 26, 2006 Posted September 26, 2006 Hey guys, I was able to atttend the game/concert.... it was AMAZING! For those of you that don't know, it was opening the New Orleans Saints (american) football game. The Saints and Green Day are two of my FAVORITE things ever, so you can imagine how pumped I was. Also, I live 30 miles north of New Orleans, so it had that close-to-home effect. Also, it was so cool how they implemented New Orleans into the song so much. They mentioned "The Lower 9th will rise again from the Lake Pontchartrain" (the Lower 9th Ward was one of the harder-hit areas of Katrina, and Lake Pontchartrain is the lake that New Orleans is next to).I know it's probably hard for yall to understand, but Katrina left a pretty big imprint on my life, along with thousands of others. And for bands as monumental as Green Day and U2 to open the FIRST GAME BACK into the Superdome (which held 9,000 who were unable to evacuate during the storm, and it became a toxic landfill)... it's a dream come true.I'll post some pictures later. Thanks for the support!
spark in the night Posted September 26, 2006 Posted September 26, 2006 Tatibe happy!there's some more Mike pics in the vault
