justcause Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 This maybe belongs in the pinned thread, but I thought it might get lost there. It's a really interesting piece giving all the backround to the gig, The Edge's ongoing personal commitment to New Orleans and Music Rising, and the songs they plan to sing - Green Day will play September, U2 Beautiful Day, and both bands Saints Are Coming. It sounds like it will be a pretty emotive event on a lot of levels, and it will mean a lot to the people of New Orleans.http://www.nola.com/newslogs/lagniappe/ind...es/2006_09.html

Guest Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 I saw the commercial for it last night on ESPN. I loved it.
Amanda Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 Okay guys, I guess this really only applies to those of you who live in the vicinity of New Orleans.I got this from netty, so credit goes to the Idiot Club. The basics of it are that the production team are giving Green Day / U2 fans the opportunity to be next to the stage for the pregame performance. This is not for the game itself, literally just for the couple songs, then anyone who goes will be guided out of the Dome again. Here's a quote from the lady who is organizing it :" If they are able to be in New Orleans by 1 PM or so, and can commit their entireday until about 8 PM, they can sign up.We'll be meeting at central location with the other fans, they're aiming for1000, boarded on buses, and trekked into the Dome for around 4 PM. They won'tbe able to walk or drive themselves to the Dome themselves. Following theperformance, we will be escorted out of the Dome, back onto the buses, andtaken back to our cars.If anyone has tickets they will be able to reenter the Dome for the game. "Please only contact this lady if you are serious about going, I'm sure you can appreciate just how many mails she's going to get so she doesn't need any timewasters.EDIT: ** all buses are full now guys, if any of you are lucky enough to be on the list be sure to have a wonderful time, I'm real jealous. **
*withoutadoubt* Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 Think anyone will miss me if I take a road trip for a few days? :whistling:
