Fuzz Posted August 23, 2006 Author Posted August 23, 2006 I'd prefer not. I was going to at first, but any decisions I made seemed to have some sort of tempermental provocation in reply. I figured it'd be best if I just let you guys work them out by yourselves. Democracy at it's best.
Sherri Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 I really like that list so far, but there is this one that really bugs me.."Are you trying to prepare yourselves mentally and emotionally for the response to your next album? No matter how wonderful it is, you're going to be ripped to shreds because (1) it's different from "American Idiot", or because (2) it's similar to "American Idiot." In other words, by making a masterpiece of rock (AI), you've put yourselves in an almost no-win situation with the following album."- To me, the way this one is worded is a bit like, "Hey, you're making a new record and we're all expecting you to fail miserably because it won't be as big as American Idiot." So here's my suggestion as to the wording..Are you trying to prepare yourselves mentally and emotionally for the next chapter of Green Day? Of course it will be a great album, but there will probably be a lot of people saying it's too different from American Idiot, or too similar. In other words, AI was obviously an amazing album - do you think you've put yourself in a hard position for what's to come next?
Fuzz Posted August 23, 2006 Author Posted August 23, 2006 You guys are doing fine. You still have over two hours to figure out the final list. Plenty of you are qualified to know what is and isn't a good question, and so far you guys seem to have some sort of momentum going. You guys just need a little more input instead of just one group of a few people deciding everything, cause then those of you not participating will be the ones bitching afterwards because you don't like a question thats already been asked.

Thanks for catching that.
Parley Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 Dude, I'd be so fucking pissed off. I've been crazy bitch over this since five pm because nobody else was doing jack shit.It was just a suggestion so don't get yourself in a tizz. You've been compiling questions and that could only help Andres if he chose to pick the 5 questions. Your work wouldn't go to waste.I'd be curious as to what everyone else thinks of the idea. If no one agrees, then he shouldn't do it. I'm sure not going to lose any sleep over it either way.

He already responded.Anyway, you're making it sound like I shouldn't have a right to be pissed off-- nobody was doing jack shit about this, so Me, Rebel, MDA, and Tedifer actually did something about it. But that doesn't matter anymore. Besides, I liked your question.
Parley Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 Ooh yeah, I forgot to put about how we needed to re-word it. Thanks for catching that.I like the question the way I wrote it. I wrote it that way intentionally because I'm sure they fully expect what I wrote to happen. It does not imply failure, either. It implies that it will be hard to live up to the success of the last album because it was so extraordinary.

The way Whatsername re-worded still had that same impact but less negative.
Sherri Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 It's not like I was doing it to piss anyone off, I was doing it because I didn't agree with the way it was written - and we're here to give our input. I wasn't meaning to make it sound like it was written horribly, it's just the way I read it and it sounded kind of harsh. And I think that we need more people giving their opinions because now it's just the same people.. we need more so that they're not all fussed if they don't like the final questions.

I want opinions on the questions that the majority of the ones already posting agreed on, but from other people.
Fuzz Posted August 23, 2006 Author Posted August 23, 2006 You guys don't need to worry a great deal about wording. I'll make sure when i send it there is a decent way for all of these to sound with some coherency.
Rebel_Gal Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 I only know 1 question that I just thought of that we should askWhat inspired you to write whatsername? - directed to BillieNobody really knows why he wrote it.
ChemicEmotions Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 I only know 1 question that I just thought of that we should askWhat inspired you to write whatsername? - directed to BillieNobody really knows why he wrote it.I thought it was based on past girlfriends.. that's what I read somewhere, anyway. You guys don't need to worry a great deal about wording. I'll make sure when i send it there is a decent way for all of these to sound with some coherency.THANK YOU.
VictimOfAuthority Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 one of my favorite questions right now is whats the most meaningful lyric you've ever heard/written (to all the guys)
Rebel_Gal Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 I thought it was based on past girlfriends.. that's what I read somewhere, anyway. i didn't know that
ChemicEmotions Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 i didn't know thatO.o I vaguely remember where I read that. But I know that what he said.
Guest Mike's Secret Admirer Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 Okay, I'm finally back, and I need to know the "List" that ChemicEmotions has. If it still exists...
Parley Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 I still don't think it sounds negative, but I don't have a problem with the way whatsername changed it, except for one part. Don't put in the part "Of course it will be a great album." It sounds sappy and condescending to them (GD). And these questions are coming from FANS, so they already know that we think it will be a great album. And I would like this sentence included because it's really the point of the question: "In other words, by making a masterpiece of rock (AI), you've put yourselves in an almost no-win situation with the following album."I guarantee they won't think it's harsh. It's realistic in the music industry today and I think they'll appreciate it.You guys don't need to worry a great deal about wording. I'll make sure when i send it there is a decent way for all of these to sound with some coherency.Damn...I type so slowly that I didn't see what Andres said until I had finished.
Rebel_Gal Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 O.o I vaguely remember where I read that. But I know that what he said.ok then forget that i said that
Fuzz Posted August 23, 2006 Author Posted August 23, 2006 Yeah, i'd like to see the current list as well.
ChemicEmotions Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 The Current List:---"What advice would you give to some one who is coping with a loss of their loved one?"---"As said by John Lennon, are you just a songwriter who happens to play guitar or a guitar player that just happens to write songs?" ---'When you were recording Dookie, you were still a band unknown to the mainstream. After Dookie became a giant success, you guys recorded Insomniac. Was it different to record Insomniac compared to Dookie, because you were known and successfull as a band now? Why?'OR [reworded differently]:---"Was the mindset while making Insomniac different becuase you had notoriety compared to making dookie where you had the freedom to not worry about success?"---"Are you trying to prepare yourselves mentally and emotionally for the next chapter of Green Day? Out there will probably be a lot of debate going on saying it's too different from American Idiot, or too similar. In other words, AI was obviously an amazing album - do you think you've put yourself in a hard position for what's to come next?"---"What type of nervous/bad habits do you guys have? Any little antics you have that drive the other guys crazy?"---"There has been a lot of rumours going around about Green Day-- whether it's from one of you dying, or you guys breaking up-- which ones do you think are the craziest? How did you react when you first read/heard about them?"

ChemicEmotions Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 Its seems harsh to me but whatever it’s not me who makes the dictions on what to sayWhat the fuck? Yes it is! Your opinion acounts. Everybody's does. It's just whether or not somebody has a reason to disagree with it or not.
Sherri Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 Well to settle this so we can move on, as Parley's last reply said - I think if we edited it with the last sentence the same as she originally had it, I think it would be good. But we don't have to worry about the wording anyways.and I still like this one: What song do you think lyrically has the most meaning to you and why?
