I've known about this for three weeks and I still haven't come up with a good question aside from asking about what they're doing, and where the fuck Billie got Blue from.

he talked about where he got blue from in an old MTV interview.....he got it froma guy in a semi-big local band...i forget the name

my question:

"Surrounding your image as a sort of political figure, many disagree with you however continue to constantly support you (myself included). What do you think that tells you about your music and the impact it has on some people, even if the lyrics don't connect with the listener fully."

Thank you ChemicEmotions, I'm still a little confused about that link, but what the hell, I appreciate you finding the article. :)

Haha, thank you very much.

You can understand why I found 'The Microsoft Hearts Network' a little confusing.

i think we should ask more about kerplunk and 39/smooth, they never get questions asked about them, we do know pretty much everything about AI but not so much of the first 2

i agree. :)

It was a joke that I pulled on a different forum-- I put the title as "I win at life" and then that picture and in the post I said "You all lose".

I have no life, seriously.

Here's the thing...we don't want to ask questions that they can answer with the standard:

"It was really cool."

"We love all our fans, no matter what their age."

"We were just happy everyone liked it."

"It made us feel great."

"Our music has different meanings to different people."

"We're glad the music resonated with so many people."

You know, the answers they ALWAYS give. :/ We need to ask questions that require them to put some thought into answering--not just answer with a brief phrase or single sentence. Make them think!!

Like, say, WHAT HAPPENED TO TRE'S MOM -cries- I really want that to be one of the questions.

Well, you are 98 years old.

I'd just be happy to still be kicking.

It's a good question, for sure, but I'm betting that he might think it's a bit too personal. If she were part of his life, it seems she would've been included in "Driven." Either that or she is a very private person and doesn't want any kind of publicity. In which case he wouldn't answer a question about her either.

I could be totally wrong, too. That's just how it seems to me.

i agree. that's why i dont think we should ask 'em about their music. we should ask them random silly questions. im sure they get tired of repeating the same stuf over and over and over over and over and over over and over and over........ yeah.

First of all, here are some questions I've come up with (they are directed towards each memeber):

1) Have you ever done or said anything publically that you are ashamed of?

2) Which lyric, from any of your songs, do you think is most reflective of yourself (life, personality, attitude, etc.)?

3) As you have probably already figured out, it is an extremely exciting and nervewracking experience for a fan to get a chance to meet you. So for those of us who have not met you yet and would someday like to, is there any advice you could give to make the encounter as enjoyable as possible?

(That could also be rephrased as "What is the best way a fan can behave when meeting you? What are some things that should not be done or asked during the encounter?")

4) If you could meet anyone in the world that you haven't met yet (dead or alive), who would it be? Why?

I think this is a good question:

"Do you ever worry that because you've been honest about using drugs and alcohol, your children will think it's a good thing for them to do?"

I'd like to add onto it by asking something like "Do you still indulge in habits like drugs (weed, in particular) and drinking?" I've always kind of wondered that...

Here were some questions that I liked:

- What song do you think lyrically has the most meaning to you and why?

- What was the hardest song for you to write?

- What band is/was their biggest influence?

- To Billie: What types of thoughts and feelings were you having during the writing of "Coming Clean"? Was it because you were having feelings about a particular man and needed to write about it, or was bi-sexuallity always something you knew was in you?

- What is the craziest thing a fan has ever done to meet you?

- Have you ever read fan fiction? If so, what do you think about it?

- What type of nervous/bad habits do you guys have? Any little antics you have that drive the other guys crazy?

- How does your fame affect and influence your kid's lives compared to other kids?

- Are you ever afraid of the intense feelings, bordering on obsession, your fans have for you?

I LOVE BANKSY. I think it would be interesting to have this question answered:

- I find alot of the art of American Idiot reminds me of the Works of Artist Banksy. Also Tre's tattoo are inspired by two works of Banksy. I would like to know the Band opinion on the artist and if he had any influence on them.

what exactly is said at 3 min., 8 seconds in blood, sex and booze?

^ I hear "AH SAY EVERAH TAHHHHHHHH," but you know...I could be wrong. :D

Well, it isn't "too personal" when everybody talks about BJ's dad =\ A lot of interviewers before AI even came out kept on harping on his dad dying and such. Besides, if he thinks it's "too personal" he doesn't have to answer it.

We know you never planned to be megafuckingsuperstars, but since you are, what are your favorite parts and your least favorite parts of that as you try to go about your normal lives? And how is it frustrating not having your privacy anymore?

Do you visit your fansites often? If so, how often and what do you think of all that stuff about yourselves?

Have you ever been frightened by a fan or fans and why?

What was the worst experience you have had at gig and why?

How do you handle the pressures of being in a different city everyday for two years, being away from family and friends, being expected to be at the top of your game each and everyday by all your fans, and appearances, interviews, award ceremonies etc. It seems like it would be more than one could handle.

What are things you enjoy that your fans do and on the flipside what can you not stand that your fans do?

I think they would get a kick out of these......

What do you say at the end of Hitchin a ride?

What are the names of the three KLAX songs? Where did they come from and when?

what exactly is said at 3 min., 8 seconds in blood, sex and booze?

Have you been punk'd? if so, what happened and why wasn't it aired?

Do you ever listen to your own music?

Did you find out who wrote Holden Caulfield?

Who is whatsername?

these are my favorites so far, and yes, the first 2 are my own :)

1-Has Green Day ever checked out the contests here on GDA, meaning the Whatsername & Prosthetic Head contests...if they have, I'd love to know what they think of them? (a longshot, but I'd love to know the answer)

2-Has a movie for the song "Misery" ever been done or considered?

3-Do you have any restrictions as far as what your kids can listen to in terms of your own music? (I'll add to that: or to anyone else's music?)

4-if you were a homeless guy, what would your sign say? ( I love this one)

5-What do you think about all of the 11-year-olds that think you're hot and don't know that you're old enough to be their fathers?

and a new one to Billie...Do you keep close contact with your brothers, sisters, and mom? How does your fame affect your relationships with them?

More questions..

"What would you like to be doing 10 years from now? What do you think you will be doing 10 years from now?"

"Have you guys ever envisioned yourselves being as famous as you are now?"

"Do you think in the near future, your kids will be as famous as you guys are now?"

Posted

I've always wondered why they charge so much to be an idiot club member. 20 fucking bucks.

Jeesh.

Well obviously not done officially, but there's a very good movie for it on YouTube that looks professional enough.

i like these

"Down in 89 they played a few songs that are to this day known to fans just as ''Unknown Songs". Are those their own stuff or covers, what are the names of those songs and why didn't they recorded those in the studio?"

"if you were a homeless guy, what would your sign say?"

"Why do you neglect songs from 1,039 Smoothed Out Slappy Hours and Kerplunk! when on tour?"

"From whom did you get Blue, and how old where you when you got Blue?"

"what was one memory from the AI tour that you will always remember on/offstage"
