Teenage Kicks! Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 Longview. Never gets old. Bassist song for the win!
amy_runs Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 As Billie Joe has it; his favorite song to play, or heartstring of American Idiot in general is Letterbomb. The song definitely has its place both lyrically and musically. But as fate has it I might as well suck at playing the piece. No body can ever really live up to that little spark, or bit of magic Green Day lights on fire as they control the stage. Have you ever tried? Even though it might as well be humanly impossible to live up to such perfectionist standards, do you ever feel so close, or connected with the group when playing a certain song. As if in that one moment all that exists is you, Green Day and of course your guitar, matching your heartbeat. For me playing the hell out of Jesus of suburbia brings that out. With every riff, every magic power cord and lick played within the masterpiece only makes me closer to what the song means to me. You don’t really live the full intensity of the song until you amp it up to 10 and play your heart out, along with Billie Joe, where you can almost feel his ‘rage of love’. Not too mention, its preety fucking fun to play. That moved me.Good Riddance connects me the most
Juan Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 Longview. Never gets old. Bassist song for the win! That is a good bassline, I dig more the fast picking on NOFX's Decline, crazy stuffI really like playing anything that I haven't played enough, like Basket Case it's boring from playing so many times, yet Fashion Victim is a fun one
iLozza! Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 I can't play very many. But I guess it'd be time of your life.
Yellow Felony Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 Fashion Victim, just so up-beat and fun to dance to.
Kimpsu Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 Holiday's quite nice to play - but I also love to play JoS. And Waiting is also great when you sing and play it.
Guest Hayley Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 It's hard t choose. i think either Jos or basketcase.
Ila Reto Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 i cant really play much green day, but i get a kick out of playing FHT songs (especially Pieces of Truth and Broadway).as far as green day goes, probably F.O.D.all on bass of course.
Guest TwoDollarMellie Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 I love playing Good Riddance, although it's really simple.I get really into it, especially when I start singing along.
dustyn808 Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 I play guitar, I'm not the best, but i feel really "connected" every time i play just about any song by green day. they are a major influence to me so I love playing their songs!!!!!
