ILoveGreenDayForEternity Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 Oh yeah,I've written to them.4 years ago, when I was 10.And it took me about 2 hours to do the back of the envelope.I decorated it very well, and being the stupid person I was back then,I thought that they would see it because I thought the decorations would get their attention. Then I had to sneak it past my parents.I had a letter written already to my friend Bryan, and I needed another stamp. So I took off the stamp off of Bryan's letter and put it on my decorated one. Then I asked for another stamp and they wondered where the other one went,I said,"I lost it..It didn't go on all the way so it fell somewhere."So I finally got another one and got it sent...I've also written one to blink-182 when I was 7 years old
Supermodel*Robot Posted October 19, 2007 Posted October 19, 2007 i went for like a month rewriting and attempting to create the perfect letter that expressed how i felt and wasn't cliché, and then i realised oh well that's impossible and theres barely a chance they'll read it. and so i gave up. i dunno if i'd try again...probably not.

The Disappearing Boy Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 I wouldn't normally put this here, but i think that the questions that i asked would be of interest to other users here. I have only just sent it and here is a copy of the e-mail:Hello everyone.I am a member of a huge Green Day forum and me and a few others are trying to find out a couple of things. We have searched for a while on the net but can't find the answers to our questions, so I thought i would ask you guys.First of all, i have found on the internet some audio and video performances of 3 songs and no-one seems to know what they are. All the performances are from 1989/90 time and i was wondering if they were perhaps covers of songs by local bay area bands, or perhaps were they songs that you wrote, but were never relaesed on any of your albums. I would love to know if you could shed any light on these. Second, i was wondering if you guys know what the oldest sweet children recording (audio or video) of a concert is and if it is available any where. It would be a piece of green day history that i would love to get my hands on if possible. Finally i was wondering if you had performed every song you have ever written in any concert, or are there some songs that you have never played live. Well thats it, i can't wait for the next album, but take your time on it, myself and the other fans want you to be happy with it before you are finished, so don't feel like you are under pressure or anything!! Thanks for all your help and Rock On!! (as always!)from Nick,Somewhere in EnglandHopefully, as they are rather direct questions, it will at least be seen by their eyes and i may get a genuine response, as opposed to a pre written one or something. I will let you guys know what the answer is.In the meantime, have you written to anyone famous and why?
mmmcrazypills Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 thats pretty cool. I hope it gets answered
Slommy Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 No, I never did and won't be looking forward to doing so!
saurus Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 No, I haven't. I have nothing to ask, and I'd hate to send them a letter telling them how good they are. They must be bored sick of letters like that.
Countrygirl Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 they dont reply at allToo many fan letters and not enough time.
GreenDayfreak102 Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 yeah im sorry i ddint write that i forgot
Sole Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 I've written a letter very very late at night, or very early in the morning, How ever you see 4 am. But I never sent it. I do want to send them something like a picture, I don't want to send the run of the mill fan letter, I want to send something from the heart.
