It was a well-written article and very thought-provoking

my thoughts: I don't care if they're punk or if they "sold out" - they're music will always be amazing to me - they're punk because they don't seem to care what anyone thinks of them - they define themselves, just like the article says - During Insomniac they felt pressured by critics to follow solely "punk" music, but they finally said "screw it" and they came out with Nimrod, a wild mix of all different types of songs and from then on, they just played whatever they thought sounded good - to me, there's nothing more punk than that

Yeah, I'm so sick and tired of hearing all of these Green Day haters. This article totally showed them up. I wish that the whole world could read this and actually understand it. I have sooo many thoughts on this article, but none that I will share. Just know that there are others out there, who think the exact same way.

This article was very well thought out and written extremely well. I applaud you. don't get me wrong i'm a big fan of green day but they're still sell outs any way you put it.

Wow that was a very well written article. Thanks for writing it and Andres thanks for posting it.

MyOwnBeatNow mentioned GD trying to follow closely to punk roots on Insomniac. Insomniac is all about their anger regarding the fans that turned on them when they hit it big. And the bozo above calling them sellouts any way you put it, what does that have to do with anything?

I'm just gonna jump in for a moment and say how blown away I've been by the response to this piece, especially from people who have few posts on the board but felt moved to speak out, here or in the pms I've received.

I think you can tell that I wrote this from my heart because of the love and appreciation I have for this band .

The shallow-minded shit that's flung at them is such a contrast with how real they are - real lives, real struggle, real pain - and their music, forged from this reality, the unflinching truth.

If I've in any way validated their fans, if I've given anyone something to respond to detractors with, then that makes me really proud - almost as proud as I am to call myself a Green Day fan, because that's my badge of honor.

Us and our band, we're a tribe.

*Angeline

Just wondering, where did 184% come from?

Anyway, this was a fantastic article, the best so far (there has only been to but, oh well)
