AnarchyKitsune Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 I have always loved their music, but after the Idiot release I am liking them less as people. Fame has changed them, and it's not for the better. I am interested to know what comes after this, but I hate all of the new fans who are only familiar with Idiot.
I_am_B Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 I have lost interest.mainly cus my love for music has evolved, im more into Indie at the mobut i do still like green day, theres only so many times over the years you can listen to the same stuff and not out grow it and get bored.but listening to green day is better for me now cus i dont listen as often when i do im like woow instead of yawnnnn!the whole mainstream side of things makes it harder still cus everytime you turn on the radio or tv they are their. its boring!one of my fave bands Reuben are amazing! but their singer still works part time in a fish and chip shop!but they dont care cus they dont wanna go mainstream cus they have their fans, their albums are in stores like HMV and they are doing it for the love of it. not for the money.
DearlyBelovedNo5 Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 My choice of music has broaded a lot latelyBut that's Green Day their fault to start withI still listen a lot to them but not exclusivelyThere are other great bands and there's nothing wrong with that
whatevergirl1 Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 the only thing that lost my interest is the fact that nobody opne a new thread called ''coldplay suxs'' again :bored:Do you have an obsession with Coldplay or something? :/ It's like you have to bring them up in every topic you can. Same with Bush.Anyways, i haven't lost any interest in GD's music, but i'm not as into them as i was like a year ago, lol.
Guest ☼ Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 uh nope. i keep my obbsessions undercontrol so i don't get burntout on them.
Guest Quietus Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 I've discovered so many new bands recently, that Green Day has taken a back-seat. For the time being.Hmm, that's kind of like me.I'm not loosing interest, but I've mellowed a bit because the hype for me has died down, not because the AI hype has died down. When I got AI, I had never discovered the other albums, and so the AI era was a huge one of discover for me, because I ordered all their other albums, trusting them to be wonderful and hoping I wasn't wasting 80 - 100 bucks. They blew my mind. I was obsessed and couldn't get enough, couldn't listen to enough. Now I've had my fill and I'm mellowing a bit, realizing I can listen to more than one band. I still love them, and I still listen to them once a day, usually one or two songs while I'm running, but when I'm on the comp I listen to some new bands I've been into. But I love them, and they will always be my favorite band, and the first CD I reach for when I really am on the brink of an emotional breakdown. I'll never get tired of checking GDA for updates or working on the picture vault, but taking a break doesn't hurt either, just makes you appreciate them more when they finally hit your ears after a haitus.
ImnotaDrIjustPlayOneOnTV Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 All those years and all those songs, and you won't look at the poor guy if he doesn't meet your exacting standards of beauty? You're a hard woman, Steph! It's people like you that drive him to drink, you know that? only if wore Hair in Can my dear, he could go bald w/pride and I would not mind at all what he looked like.
Lorelei Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 yeah, to be honest I think your both right to an extent, another reason I've stopped listening to them is because, well, im over power chords, I've started listening to more "advanced" music with better guitar skills, like RHCP and the Killers, they use alot of Jazz chords and stuff, helps me develop my skills, listening to Green Day gets boring because it's too predictable. I listen to lyrics and they don't mean anything to me, because I'm not one of them teens who "can't find themselves", Green Day now to me, is a good listen once in a while if I want to jump around and not pay attention to their "talent" I can play all their songs and it got boring, simple. The holding out his arms thing, umm, I think using the term "Jesus" was a bit vague, what I meant to say is, he opens his arms out for appreciation and acceptance from the crowd, nothing to do with Jesus of Suburbia at all, granted he does it most of the time to get the crowd going, but from my perspective, its to fill his own ego.I didn’t get into GD until I was 21 and I had already “found myself.” It’s interesting that you should say that because I always felt that anything after Insomniac had more relevance to young adults than teenagers. And as far as “sick of power cords,” you had me until you mentioned The Killers and then I just had to laugh. The Killers? Who cares what their recorded music sounds like when they can’t play live worth shit. Also, I don’t care how difficult he music is to play if I don’t like it.
billiejoeiskingofpunkrock Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 I am far from losing interest. I am a freak. LOL!
spark in the night Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 havent lost interest, but I want something to happen!oh wait..this friday. yess get to see B live right now and not in pictures.
Coffee In My 409 Maker Posted May 18, 2006 Author Posted May 18, 2006 Is it possible for you people to not post at all if you're going to say; "I haven't lost any interest!"
Coffee In My 409 Maker Posted May 18, 2006 Author Posted May 18, 2006 ^ that would eliminate like 90% of the posts hereThat doesn't matter. I want more points of views, not more posts.
LamBCHoP Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 That doesn't matter. I want more points of views, not more posts.i meant it that i wanted them gone as well.... im sick of reading every post the same

Anyway, back to the topic at hand. And people please don't just post "I'm not losing interest" I want posts with some meaning in them.
LamBCHoP Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 this doesnt make sense... half these posts say that they arent losing interest, yet they are saying that they are listening to green day alot lessarent these contradictory?

They are gaining interests in other bands and Green Day have been pushed to the back, so in my opinion thats losing interest. They just don't want to admit it/don't realise it.
Gwen Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 I don't know what's wrong with loosing interest for Green day... I think those who are loosing their interest may be proud of being able to open their mind to some new kind of music and others bands. There isn't only Green day that can make great music.
agirlcalledkill Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 i've been losing a bit of interest. green day still is my favorite band, but while they're taking a break i've been listening to a lot of other new music and they've taken the backseat for the moment.

There isn't only Green day that can make great music.Thats true, not that I'm encouraging people to not like Green Day but some people just refuse to let go of anything. I mean, I used to be obsessed with Family Guy and when I began watching it less and less I didn't want to admit I was losing interest. It hurts. I guess its the same for Green Day. You can stop being obsessed with it, but that doesn't mean you don't like it anymore. Don't hurt yourself.
synester girl Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 i dont listen to them every second of the day but i havnt lost any interest in them ill always love them
Howoriginalisthis Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 Just because there hasn't been much from them lately doesn't mean that you need to lose interest in them. I suppose that, because of alot of new bands, they've sort of been pushed back, to make room really.

I want to know what are their reasons.
