Green Jay Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 Damn, everyone says how Green Day helped them get through this and that, but to be honest since listening to Green Day more (about a year) things have just gone really bad! most of their songs are actually quite depressing!
The Nobody Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 I can't say they helped me through anything (that was David Sylvian's job), but I haven't lost a slight interest in them. Actually, I've gained interest.
iluvgdlikecrazy Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 i think a lot of people lose interest in them cuz a couple of their songs are overplayed. its true that their overplayed and all but not all the songs that are overplayed are their best songs. like wake me up is a good song and all but the radio plays it cuz its a nice slow song that people would like...and it doesnt have bad words in it or anything. like you'll never hear st. jimmy on the radio cuz its about a suicidal kid...
Jillie Boe. Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 haha trueyea I noticed his receding hairline at the Grammyshe's gotta stop dying his hair! lolyou noticed at the grammys, what about when he dyed his hair blonde, it really showed then. It was scary, maybe he'll get hair transplants like elton john. It's billie joe i'm sure he'll go that fair or start wearing wigs maybe
masshysteria1 Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 Absolutely not, they are the best band on Earth.
Jillie Boe. Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 Absolutely not, they are the best band on Earth.okay
Christa Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 I'm not losing interest in them at all. I've just been listening to different bands lately. Green Day is still & always will be my favorite band. <3
Jillie Boe. Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 i don't like green day anymore they suck, i've settled for my chemical romance, i love the dramatic sound. :bored: You know when i first saw the link to this thread i thought it was a thread about people losing interest in the actual forum, i mean people lose interest in bands all the time so it wouldn't be much of a shock if a bunch of people suddenly lossed interest in green day and that's everybody not just the "teenies".
Dai. Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 okay who does she say it the best band in the world?Green Day?
Jillie Boe. Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 who does she say it the best band in the world?Green Day?green day? of course who else, my chemiacal romance? As if anyone would say that
klam_man Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 i never lost/am loosing interest. somtimes i wont listen to them for like a week but when i go back im like 'damn this is good'.
HelloStarshine_ Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 My friend is losing intrest. She won't admit it, but she really doesn't care anymore. I guess she just fell into another music genre (she's an EMO now and I love to rag on her for it). :/green day? of course who else, my chemiacal romance? As if anyone would say that People say Green Day is the best band in the world because they've proved it. MCR is still a little shit band.
allenxtreme Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 I lost interest before Christmas, they milked American Idiot a bit too much for my liking, I still enjoy listening to the Warning album, because that's by far my favourite album by them, but even then, everytime I listen to it, it doesn't have the same effect as it used to, like chills down my spine and that. When I listen to their music, I just think of their egos and what they used to be, innocent guys playing in basements and stuff, my how times have changed.
walkingalone_x3 Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 I listen to Green Day nearly all the time. I think the only reason I might be getting a bit sick of it is because I need some new CDsI concur. But I think they deserve this little break. I'm sure it will do wonders for them.
farley drexel hatcher Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 So all these people are in a Green Day forum saying how they've lost interest in Green Day...right...
HelloStarshine_ Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 So all these people are in a Green Day forum saying how they've lost interest in Green Day...right...Didin't make sense to me either.
allenxtreme Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 hardly anything on this forum is about Green Day anymore, people joined when they were into them, and now they're not, but that doesn't mean they're gonna leave the forum, because they enjoy it here, and im sure have made lots of friends.
farley drexel hatcher Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 Sure, but it still doesnt make much sense. I have friedns on other sites for bands i'm not into as much as i used to be. I still go on there to talk and stuff. It's just that a lot of people saying their losing interest in Green Day are the ones who thought they rocked last year. Now they're making out it's because of AI that they've lost interest.
allenxtreme Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 for most people, it's just a phase, ive been into them for most of my life off and on. Right now it's off, but if people like coming here even if they've lost interest in them, this forum is really a place to have fun and talk about issues rather than bow down to Green Day, although alot of people do that too.
farley drexel hatcher Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 I'm not saying you have to bow down to Green Day, but 'losing interest' sounds so teenie. Obviously you won't be as into them as when they're in the limelight, because you never are when a band is quiet and making a new album and stuff. But if you can lose interest altogether in a band that easy then you can't be very much into music.
allenxtreme Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 thats a pretty obnoxious statement, "if you can lose interest altogether in a band that easy then you can't be very much into music"People change, people need to grow in order to refine their music choice, alot of folk can't just listen to one band religiously, yet others can. Look at Jimi Hendrix, he changed his music taste alot, he lost interest in a lot of bands like that, but even though he is dead, he is still considered one of, if not THE greatest musician of all time.

allenxtreme Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 umm, this thread isn't about their egos, thats for a different thread, so I won't answer that i was just saying how their egos have made me lose some interest, I don't wanna debate about all that anyway, im too tired to give a fuck.

But sure, whatever, don't back up your point.
