she screams in silence. Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 i listen to wayyy more bands now than i did when i first discovered green day, but they'll always be my favorite. they're really what made me discover good music.
spark in the night Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 Fuckit, he's Californian, he can buy hair! haha trueyea I noticed his receding hairline at the Grammyshe's gotta stop dying his hair! lol
Watoosh Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 yea, i have. i dont dislike them or anything, i just gradually started listening to more of other things.
milkshake_fiend Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 i hardly listen to them anymore...but when i do, it makes me feel really happy and it brings back a lot of memories for me.
Hybrid Meteora Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 From time to timeAt times I listen to Green Day to much then I dont listen to them for a while but then the urge comes back after like 4 days
annie Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 No. I think a lot of people are getting sick of them because of the over-marketing of AI. But I'm not.
ImnotaDrIjustPlayOneOnTV Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 I can understand where a lot of the younger fans are coming from. When I was 11 I was fanatical about a band, until I was 14 or so. Then I discovered Metallica, Iron Maiden, etc and my favorite band kind of faded into the background. I still have a special place in my heart for them and I have a few of their cds, but they're not my favorite any longer. Now that I am older and GD has been my favorite since '94, I don't think they will be losing that #1 position anytime soon. Between albums I go thru phases where I may only listen to them once or twice a month. Whenever a new album comes out it gets me all crazy again and I listen to all the albums 24/7. Billie's lyrics, voice and emotions have always touched me way more than any other artist. I can't pretend to know why or how, I have often wondered because I was never really into the punk thing to begin with.--I know they are more pop, but no one can deny the core sound that influenced their style. I have given up trying to understand what fascinates me so much about their music so I just enjoy. Those breaks I take between listens (when I listen to my other cds) always makes me appreciate their sound even more when I pop in one of their cds. Its like a dear beloved friend you haven't seen in awhile. Losing interest? No way.
Guest ~GhOsT~ Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 im not loosing intrest! i never will! i love them no matter how much success they have which is a stoopid reason to hate them. but i love all theyre songs old and new! im a Green Day lover for eternity
nessa1416 Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 Its not so much that I'm losing interest, it's that I'm overloading myself with it. I listen to them constantly, and im on this site alot, and so its just kinda getting overwhelming. And I really wish they would hurry up with that new album, or that AI movie....
I luv the Tre Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 i did lose interest for a whiel cuz i listened to just greenday for a couple months. then i started listening to a bunch of other stuff. but now when i do listen to them it just makes me appreciate them more and it brings back so many memories. they just hold a special place in my heart as cheesy as that sounds.the best cd of theirs is 1039 sosh. mostly cuz i can relate to about every single song on there and i think that when billie wrote that cd he captured what every teenager goes through. its crazy.
spiffy_n_trendy Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 Green day's my favorite band and they always will be. I used to listen to them non stop... up until a few months ago. I started finding some new bands that I've been listening to a lot more than green day.... although i dont listen to them everyday like i used to, Green Day will always be number one for me
LamBCHoP Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 Fuckit, he's Californian, he can buy hair! or he sould spray it on
ImnotaDrIjustPlayOneOnTV Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 or he sould spray it onokay...maybe then I would be losing interest. Nah, just probably would stick w/listening. I wouldn't be able to watch him in videos or in concert every again. I could handle goin bald but no Hair in a Can
Jewels! Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 I love Green Day!!! I hate the people who talk shit about Green Day though.
dufour Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 im not loosing intrest! i never will! i love them no matter how much success they have which is a stoopid reason to hate them. but i love all theyre songs old and new! im a Green Day lover for eternityAll this make me so bad.. I like many other bands..but Green Day is special..I don`t wanted to be without them, I can.Green Day is everything for me.I can`t imagin the Billie Joe`s face reading this,or Mike or Tre. I hope you take back your interest. And I agree with you,Ghost
ILoveTableArt Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 Those breaks I take between listens (when I listen to my other cds) always makes me appreciate their sound even more when I pop in one of their cds. Its like a dear beloved friend you haven't seen in awhile. Losing interest? No way.Yes! When you listen to a Green Day album after a long hiatus it is really like a dear beloved friend that you haven't seen!I don't listen to Green Day everyday- I mix things up a bit. I always come back to a Green Day album though.
apocalipstick Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 Not in the band, but I do lose interest in songs from time to time. It's like a big rotation of the Green Day songs that I can't stop listening to, if that makes any sense..haha.But I have been taking my time to find new bands to listen to these days..just for something new.
**nobodylikesyou** Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 And it was when I found 1039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours that I realized how far down the drain Green Day's gone in the past 17 years. WTF? Are you nuts? And no not losing interest, just waiting for something to happen.
fr0mthestars Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 No, I haven't. Hell, anytime I listen to 'Waiting' or '1000 hours' or 'Homecoming' i get all tingly and shit. .. maybe even more than before ..
punkrock-chick Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 im not losing interest, but i see some of my friends are....
S.cattered Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 I still listen to Green Day, just not as much. I listen to mostly others bands now... But I'm not losing interest. When thier new cd comes out, i'll be listening to them 24/7 again. That would be... Scary?yes that would be rather um...scary...and weird
LamBCHoP Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 the that i see it, the people who are losing interest werent real fans to start with, and now all thats left are the real fans who really appreciate the music
xWarningx Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 All my friends are like "omg i hate Green Day now". I think it's stupid, because you're over something you don't say you hate it..I don't really ever listen to Green Day unless whatever im listening to is on shuffle, i probally only ever listen to Warning and Dookie...But then again i don't really choose what i listen to unless it's on shuffle...Meh.the that i see it, the people who are losing interest werent real fans to start with, and now all thats left are the real fans who really appreciate the musicThat's pretty much true..
justcause Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 okay...maybe then I would be losing interest. Nah, just probably would stick w/listening. I wouldn't be able to watch him in videos or in concert every again. I could handle goin bald but no Hair in a Can All those years and all those songs, and you won't look at the poor guy if he doesn't meet your exacting standards of beauty? You're a hard woman, Steph! It's people like you that drive him to drink, you know that?
burnout_13 Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 Nothing much has been happening lately; they've milked AI for all it's worth, they're done touring etc. But if I go for a couple weeks without listening to them much, I can then go and listen for hours and realise just how goddamn awesome they are
