Losing Interest In Green Day ?

ive been a huge fan for years, but lets face it, we can only listen to the same damn songs on repeat for so long. i will never ever lose interest fully, but i go on my little kicks where i listen to nothing but green day, then i move on and listen to nothing but another band. but i still consider them my favorite no matter what

I understand, it happens to me too.

It's like, it's been a year and a half since the last release, sometimes when there's nothing new you just stop listening to them for a while... but i've neever lost interest in them. They were always my favourite band.

I think that now much more happen inbetween albums for Green Day; they're more popular and tend to have more interviews, more projects (DVD, musical)... so they're kinda alway interesting, even if the last album has been released few years ago.

They'll always be my favorite band, but I've found lately my interest in them comes in waves. There was a solid 2 year period of my life where I seemed to ONLY care about Green Day. Slowly, as I started getting into more and more music, I backed away from them a bit. I'll always love them, buy their albums/DVD's, and go to any show that comes close to me, but I don't believe I'll ever regain that level of obsession. Probably for the best. However, I still get excited over little things like whenever they make a TV appearance or I hear one of their songs used for a commercial or whatnot. And, ngl, if I ever get to meet them I'll most likely cry after.

That was great, I couldn't say it better It's been 4-5 years and I haven't lost interest in them, I don't think I ever will.

There were moments when I needed a break but everytime I came back to their music again, it hit me more than ever before, how much I love them and how much these songs mean to me.

I could never stop loving them! I may take little breaks now and again, but they're so fantastic that I can never stay away too long! No popular artist is as true to themselves as Green Day and none are as ambitious. They just keep getting better (not to mention hotter!)

I tend to phase in and out of Green Day Land across the year, dependent on what new albums have come out by different bands, but I always come back to GD. I think that it'll never leave me.

Really,this band changed my life and I cant live without seeing them once or more a day.

I listen through every record every day,because their music .. their music just goes through my blood and its like a drug for me.

Seeing their faces everyday makes me happy and I will never forget the day when I saw them live.

Its sad to see how many ''fans'' are losing their interest,because they found a new band to love and keep saying '' Green Day are getting boring''. I mean, I love many other bands too,but not like Green Day.

Every now and then I need a break 'cause it can get exhausting from time to time to always listen to Green Day. Sometimes I just need some piano music or some jazz sounds but seen in a long time period I could never ever lose interest in them or their music. I mean...they changed my life so dramatically... I couldn't forget who made me change myself and my lifestyle. Who comforts me when I'm feeling blue. Who cheers me up and makes me laugh when I need it the most. Who gave me the feeling of being understood. They will forever be part of my life without even knowing, but still they do. Haha I really do love this band.

Well i'm new but i can tell you this. Green Day is my life, and music is as well. They really just helped me through a lot in my life. I had no friends to help me through a big divorce, and they help me on a daily basis. I agree with listening to some other music, then listening to Green Day, and getting all warm inside because you have amazing memories of feeling pain and they were there to help you through it, and they were there through the good times too. They are amazing people for the music they make, they have inspired me to help people through music as well. I don't think i will ever forget what Green Day did for me, and i think they will always be my first choice as music. Whenever i'm in a bad mood, i turn them on and i automatically breathe. I don't even notice, but i immediately feel better. They taught me so much, and i never thought i could love something as much as i do Green Day. I've had a lot of phase/obsessions. But Green Day, they have earned a huge place and piece of my heart. Every time i listen to them, or watch them, i just get this thought of "I'm gonna do that one day, i'm gonna play my dream, and i'm gonna inspire people and make my music heard. I want to teach people how to live, through music." I just want people to appreciate what music can do for people. I have to agree with what Mike said, music is the closest thing to magic i can think of.

When i got back from the concert i saw, i went on a Green Day overload of constantly listening to their music 24/7.....it drove me sick of them that eventually i stopped listening for a months.....

now im gaining interest again

if this is for people to explain why they lost interest in green day then why would they be on GDC? just saying...

anyway, i had a period where i sort of lost interest in Green Day. it was after AI sort of lost its luster in the media. im ashamed to say it but i sort of forgot about them because they werent so popular anymore... i got into other bands.

but then i got introduced to all their older music and then 21stCB came out and that was it, i was hooked. now im here to stay :eyebrow:

There was about 2 days last month when I thought that Social Distortion was my favorite band, and Green Day was my second. But then I remembered all the shit their music has done for me and how it's change my life and all that. I believe that Green Day will always be my favorite band. There might be periods in which I don't really listen to them, but that doesn't mean I like them any less. It's just me savoring the taste of their music on my ear buds for awhile and not listening to the same songs on repeat.

I don't think I ever LOSE interest in Green Day. In quieter periods (when there are less releases) I'm not AS 'omgyayzgreenday!' I still check GDA/C regularly and all, but...

Then something big happens and I'm 'omgyayzgreenday!' all over again. Like, right now, I'm not too excited over Green Day. But come this January and St Billie starts again, or the live album begins getting promoted or something, I'll get more interested in Green Day again. As for actually listening to them...I don't really stop. They're not ALL I listen to, but I still listen to them regularly. In most cases, I put my iPod on shuffle, so Green Day generally pops in there from time to time. Sometimes, when another band releases a new album or something, I get all excited for them and Green Day gets shunted into the background, but I always return to Green Day eventually. They're by far my favourite band and I really will never lose interest or forget about them. They're much too important to me.

other music's always good, cause it cant only be Green Day all the time, but the only time i seem to lose interest in them is when not alot is going on with them and i'm not really listening to their music. But when i feel like that and dont really like it, all i do is listen to an album i havent listened to in a while and i get happy again haha. that always works for me.

i go through phases where i don't listen to them that much but they will always be my favourite band - they have been since i was 10.

Ever since I first started listening to Green Day, I'll go on Green Day binges. For around a month, all I will listen to is Green Day. Then I'll start listening to other bands and Green Day, but still Green Day the most. Then I'll take a break from listening to them for a couple weeks and then repeat. I think this is common and it helps me in not losing interest in them.. that and their wonderful music.
