namikaze Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 I've lost some interest in Green Day. [MuseMuseMuseMuseMuseMuseMuseMuse.] I still listen to a lot of their songs, just not the Green Day section on repeat like I used to. Green Day will always have a special place in my heart, no matter what. They mean the world to me, and they always will. I mean, billiejoewasmyfirsthusbandafterall. It's as if we were in the Holiday a car. I'm driving, Gerard Way and Billie Joe are in the backseat, and Matt Bellamy is currently in the passenger seat. ;D
parinaz Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 I only come here to check how i met your mother thread does it mean I've lost my interest in them?
DecanoLP Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 I'm definately losing some interest in Green Day right now since there are no news about live shows or the new record. But concentrating on other bands that are on tour or just released a new album is normal in my opinion. It doesn't mean I don't listen to Green Day anymore (I'm actually listening to a live show right now ) but not as much as I do it when there are many news.
Punx89 Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 The last 6 years that I ve known GD I think I ve not lost my interest for them.I can't tell many things about the future, but I think that GD will be always in my heart....
Uva Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 I don't think it will ever happen to me because I lived out the moment when I doubted if I had chosen right band as my favorite. I was afraid that Green day could disappoint me somehow. I was scared of news about them, of their biography. I thought: "What if I will know anything not good about them?" or "What if I don't know Green day well to be their fan?" But I find out I can accept them the way they are, I love their music and share their attitude so sometimes I can close my eyes on their minuses and just be a fan. Because this is life and "nobody's perfect"
gloria123 Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 Well for me it comes in waves, i will listen to green day for weeks then not for a few weeks. There's only so many times you can repeat the same songs But green day is still my favorite band and always will be
TheSaltOfTheEarth Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 My love of Green Day is like a relationship . When I first got into them I listened to them nonstop, bought tons of merch, read every article I could find etc. Now it's more a controlled, steady thing, but they are still just in an entirely different league compared to my love for other bands. There's just no other artist/band that comes close. There's Green Day, and then there's everybody else. All it takes is me seeing a picture or listening to one of their songs (or looking at my tattoo, hah) and I'm immediately reminded how much they mean to me. This I never really STOP listening to them, but I'm not omgsoobsessed all the time either. But I don't think I'll ever NOT like Green Day. They mean too much to me.
Whatsername1533 Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 Not really. I'll take the occasional break but I don't think I will ever get sick of them.
Nuclear Winter Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 I started losing interest until i found this forum and started listening to Static Noise podcast when it first came out. i joined like a day before Static Noise came out, and I was like, wuuuhhhht who the fuck is Andres?
Mar Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 I have to admit, at the moment I'm over the musical. I really don't care to hear about it anymore, listen to it, whatever.
solongfromthestars Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 I think I've always been gaining interest, I mean when I first started appreciating their music I'd only have gone to a show if it was down the street. But over time the music has started meaning a lot more to me and I appreciate them more. Years ago I'd never have even considered going down to London to see them, let alone selling the contents of the house to get to Costa Rica. I listen to other music and I guess I'd travel to see one or two other bands if I had the money, but I don't know, nothing else makes me high like Green Day does. I listen to other bands and stuff, but Green Day's always been more than just some band I like and I wouldn't say I've ever lost interest. Would it sound really awful and embarassing and cringe-at-later if I said it's like a way of life?

Never thought of someone doing that..
HitmonSal Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 I'm not losing interest in them at all but I feel i should take a break from them I just love them so much it hurts in fact I'd be lying if i said I wasnt getting upset about people seeing St Billie next year and I cant. tbh its killing me. and its just not doing me any good at all. I sometimes just look at a pic of Green Day and cry cos I miss them so much and want to meet them just to say "Thank you" so I think a break will do me good to detach myself from them a little bit. I'd never EVER lose interest in them, If I take my break they will always be my number 1 band. Does anyone else feel like that? o.o Oh and for the record im not a fangirl. I've just depended on them so much when I was younger they became a limb thats why I cry when I just want to tell them "thank you" for everything they've done.
maz17 Posted December 3, 2010 Posted December 3, 2010 I listen to green day in periods, but they are always my favourite band. Right now I havent listened to them for about a month Its probably because there have been a few new albums out recently, so I have been listening to those bands' music and getting back into it. Also when I get tickets to a concert I generally liten to that band for a while, and seeing as green day havent released anything there is nothing new for me to hear. In a month or two I know I will become obsessed with their music all over again, but right now I don't listen to them too much.
euphoric-pareidolias Posted December 3, 2010 Posted December 3, 2010 i wouldn't say im losing interest in them, just that it goes in waves in how much i would listen to them in a certain length of time but really thats just down to circumstances. if im doing a lot of travel, i will be listening to my ipod and therefore Green Day a lot more than if i have a week off and stuck at home. but im definately not losing any interest
heyohbilliejoe Posted December 3, 2010 Posted December 3, 2010 i think it can be annoying for people when they see a band that they really like rise to fame so suddenly cos maybe they're worried they wont be down to earth anymore or something but seriously?? people should be happy for green day. fame hasn't really had much of a negative impact on them unless you consider the 'concept albums' thing. so if people have gone off them cos they don't like their music anyomre - fair enough - their choice. but going off them cos they're famous?? are you shitting me?? green day worked so hard and kept everything up even through "the shadddow of dookie" (as mike said in bullet in a bible ) they deserve everything they have now. it shouldn't really be something which draws people away from green day imo.
**kookai** Posted December 3, 2010 Posted December 3, 2010 yes, I don't listen to them very much now days... I still like them, but not so obsessed with them
alyrebe04 Posted December 3, 2010 Posted December 3, 2010 Green Day's music is really important for me, I have passed for a lot of shitty moments but every problem that I had it's been reflected in a song and that helped me a lot. People grow up I understand, and other bands have really cool music, but you never forget such things like this. Green Day is always going to be an important part of my life. Green Day is not only a band for me, they are like my therapist, or something that understands me and makes me be a better person... Well that's what I think...
AnnA™ Posted December 3, 2010 Posted December 3, 2010 I will admit that I don't listen to them as much as I used to, right now. There was a time when I listened to them for hours and hours every single day and threw myself over every little article about them. I can't say I do that anymore. There's actually another band I listen to more at the moment. I don't know why that is. I almost feel like I'm neglecting them, when I put on a song of theirs that just makes me smile and think: why haven't I listened to this one in so long? But it doesn't mean I'm losing interest in Green Day. I still feel that I love them as much as before. I'm still excited hearing every piece of news about them and seeing them on TV and all that. I still have the absolute best moments going to their shows. I don't think that'll change anytime soon. They're too important to me. They mean more to me than I think any other band ever will.
shoegazeloser Posted December 3, 2010 Posted December 3, 2010 I don't listen to them as much as I used to.
valeria carci Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 nope never losing interest in their music but there are things that make me lose interest in them like the whole musical thing i never liked that idea...
VanVan Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 ive been a huge fan for years, but lets face it, we can only listen to the same damn songs on repeat for so long. i will never ever lose interest fully, but i go on my little kicks where i listen to nothing but green day, then i move on and listen to nothing but another band. but i still consider them my favorite no matter what
P3AC3MAK3R Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 I havent been on here in like 6 months but im not loosing interest. Never =)
