madddie Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 but the excuse was that someone stole cigarettes and valentines, so they had to make another record, poor guys Haha yeah right!! I guess they must've just scrapped it, but that what I think any way. I'd love to hear the material!
Eighty. Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 Haha yeah right!! I guess they must've just scrapped it, but that what I think any way. I'd love to hear the material! yeaah me too! i sometimes wonder what this person did with those songs .. it's a mystery hahaa.
Rosie May Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 Lately, I've had to completely stop listening to American Idiot though Yeah I was the same, I haven't listened to it in about a month 'cause I felt like I heard it too much, but now I'm looking foward to hearing it again.
Slappypunk Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 I'm Not Losing Any Interest. There Was Never A GreenDayIsMyLife Phase...B/c Really Green Day IS My Life And They Arent A Phase To Me. I've Gone Throught Alot Of Shit And Each TIme Green Day Was There To Make It Feel Not So Shity. Really They COuld Make The Worst Album In The World And I Wouldnt Give A Damn. They'd Still Be My Life. And The Biggest Interest. No Offence Or Anything...But I Think People Who Just One Day Stop Liking A Band Or "Lose Interest" Werent Real Fans Anyways. ^ i agree with that im not nor will i ever lose interest in my favorite boys green day has always been there for me
Guest TwoDollarMellie Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 Change in musical taste. GD is also kind not my cup of tea anymore.
Holly Ann Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 I have to admit, I haven't been listening to them at all lately. It's because I've not really had time for music recently and I've been listening to Stereophonics and Avril Lavigne a lot.
in_your_face Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 well, i'm not losing interest in green day, but.. i haven't listened to them lately. i've been listening to a lot of rock opera stuff by MCR and so on.
PoliceBoyLogan Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 I haven't lost interest in them, no. There have been times when I've discovered a new band and I would have a mini obsession with them, but at the end if the day, My obsession with Green Day is just as strong now as it has been for the last ten years.
Metanoia Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 i wouldnt say i loose my INTEREST in them. i never really did.its just like in that "too much green day" thread. from time to time i take my green day breaks to concentrate and listen to other music. get a little away from it. calm it down. then after a few weeks i come back and appreciate what i have with them even more and the songs sound better and i realize again why i admire them so much but actually really loosing interest ? no not yet
minorty13 Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 I just rediscovered Kerplunk! I forgot how amazing Green Day was even in their early years before number one singles and what not 2,000 Light years away has never made more sense, No One Knows as well
AilzMacD Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 i have never lost interest, but i will have my favorite songs for the day, sometimes for the week. i will listen to it for ages then i would get (not sick of it) but a little bored of it and then i will find another one of there songs, it is like a big cycle.
Just Kate Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 if i ever lost my interest in them i'd loose the only crutch i actually have. can't afford it yet
cartoonjunkie Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 My interest in Green Day was at it's high during American Idiot, cause that's when I first really discovered them (honestly it was because the radio would not stop playing Blvd. of Broken Dreams)... And then it sky rocketed when I read my first Green Day Slash story, from then on I was obsessed... But after the AI hype died down and the teeny magazines stopped printing Green Day posters, I kinda started to calm down a bit, but I still continued to draw fan art them... So in all... I did become less obsessive over them, but I am still interested...
Eweeliina Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 I haven't been a fan for so long, only since I was 12-13, around the time when AI came out. But after I started liking them, I soon got obsessed Then I was really into them for like a year or a year and a half. But then when I was like 14-15 it toned down and I discovered other bands and before I knew it I didn't even listen to GD anymore! I went from being totally obsessed to not listening to them at all. I didn't know they were going to release 21st CB until about a week before, when I stumbled upon it by mistake. I thought, "well,I did love them before" so I bought the album. And listening to it made me love them again. Not like I had before, but I really liked the new cd. I went to see them in October last year, even though I wasn't sure I wanted too. But of course I loved the show haha. But after that, my interest kind of cooled down again. Then me and my sister (she likes GD too, but has never been the kind of fan I was) saw they were coming here again in June this year, and she begged me to go with her. I didn't even feel like it! But then my dad offered to pay and it winded up with me going with my sis, dad, brother, uncle and cousin And somewhere right before or right after that concert two months ago I realized again how great they are. I started coming here again and stuff, and now I'd say they're my favorite band again But no one knows if I'll be obsessed again (like when I was 13) or if my interest will soon fade..

I really disagree with that. Green Day have always been my number one, but I didn't listen them much for about a year, a couple years back, purely because I needed something to happen, more shows or new music. Damn reading those capped words hurt my eyes!
sammers93 Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 *to my mom* IT'S NOT A PHASE! Anyways...I will never lose interest in GD. I do like other bands and other kinds of music, but Green Day always comes first for me.
fatherotti Posted July 30, 2010 Posted July 30, 2010 I will never lose interest....To me Green Day is more than just a "band".....They are literally a part of my life.....they got me into rock music...and they opened up my whole musical catalog......I got my personality crafted from Billie....he taught me how be myself.....and how to express myself as I only I could.... all my life I've never had any friends....I've always been a loaner...and many people actually believed I had mental issues cause I wasn't "social"... In 2005, I got my first real friends....and I actually started talking to people...the very first conversation I had with anyone was about this person's hat...I just randomly walked up and said "hey I see you like Green Day" after that, being "social" was the easiest thing in the world.....I started making friends and I was a completely different person......I was more happier and carefree..... I look back and remember that Cold November 2005, sitting in front of the TV and being memorized.....by my band! like she said "and if anyone disagrees with that you can just give em' the middle finger"......
Izzard Posted July 30, 2010 Posted July 30, 2010 I don't know if I will ever lose interest in them. Thats a scary thought. I grew up with Green Day so...I donno. I'm not one too say never, so I hope I don't ever loose interest in Green Day.
redbloodedmannequin Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 Three years ago, I had an off and on relationship with Green Day. We're good now though.

This story sounds a lot like mine. I was somewhat disinterested when 21CB, and eventually I downloaded it and kind of liked it. Then, I decided to randomly buy a ticket to their show four days before the show, and I knew they put on a good show, but WOW. I was blown away by how epic live they are. That's why I'm so upset I can't see them this year.
Maddy. Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 I can definitely say that I only listen to a select few songs now instead of their entire discography like I used to a year ago. I do still love them and all, but I can't be bothered keeping up with all the news (which there's been little of as they're only paying attention to the fucking musical) and performances and appearances on the telly. Sure, it's nice to see them once in a while on TV but it's not like OMG MUST RECORD TO KEEP FOREVER because that's how I used to be. My obsession has definitely cooled down almost to a point that they're just another band that I like. Almost. They'll always have a special place in my heart. Like they say, you never forget your first love - or something. Their music (at least my favourite songs) will keep inspiring me for quite a while (I won't say always because you never know: I might once grow out of them) and the whole American Idiot album is just magic to me. I love them for putting out such a great album, hehehe. But I don't keep up with them anymore. I just listen to the music and go to the shows, and that's fine by me. I couldn't care less about all the awards that they're nominated for.
kidney Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 as of tonite.. after lookin' at the notes scrobbled on their Lollapalooza setlist.. there's been a definite loss of interest.. a great amount...
