Whatsername868 Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 I dont think I'm losing intrest. If anything I am gaining more!Same with me. You're just describing the teenies.people's taste changes with time.If it wouldn't, it would be really boring, right?!very true
xLuckystarx Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 I listen to Green Day nearly all the time. I think the only reason I might be getting a bit sick of it is because I need some new CDsAmen.--------------I don't think I'm losing any interest at all. Green Day is all I ever talk about.
Jimmy's_Rebel Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 But every once in a while I'll get myself to listen to American Idiot or Nimrod or something, and I'll be like... in paradise for a few moments. Same here - it makes them sound nice and fresh again im trying not to overplay them. If you listen to a ton of different bands for a week and then listen to Nimrod or something it makes you sigh and go "oh yeah, this is what it's all about..."
ilarybella Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 we have to stop listening their music 24/7.... so when we will again listen their songs after months and months of abstinence, they will seem even more beautiful! this is what I do for not losing interest...
Guest bja_fan Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 i am not losing any interest...how can anyone lose interest in the best band ever???!!!!
Kane Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 I don't think i'll ever loose interest. Nothing about them annoys me.If i listen to a song a couple of times and get bored with it i can pick another out of the god knows how many that have. And that lasts for a while. They're a great band. Aslong as they stay together, i'll be forever in interest.
kate Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 i lost intrest because i started listening to different music that i like better.me too.
slappyhours Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 i lost intrest because i started listening to different music that i like better.same here, green day were like the first band i liked, from them i branched out into other music n stuff. i barely like them anymore.
Sham Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 I don't think i'll ever loose interest. Nothing about them annoys me.If i listen to a song a couple of times and get bored with it i can pick another out of the god knows how many that have. And that lasts for a while. They're a great band. Aslong as they stay together, i'll be forever in interest. ditto. I just think it would be really hard to lose interest in them. I mean, they have so much variety in their music. Compare Brain Stew to Longview or King for a Day. It'd be incredibly hard to get bored of all those different sounds.
Adine Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 I'm not loosing my interest, but my friend said he lost his interest just because this huge favour and all..
TotalBasketCase13 Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 Nope, I haven't lost interest yet and I don't think I will anytime soon. Green Day has just been such a big part of my life this past year, their music has helped me so much that I could never just "forget" about them or like a band more. They'll always be my favorite. Although I do listen to other music Green Day's been the only band I've ever been able to really connect with on an emotional level. They're just that good
mizz liz Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 haha its not stupid at all. i love harry potter. and i love ur siggy. haha.Well thank you!
your_name Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 im on green day community posting stuff in green day forums . . . im totally losing interest . . . no i used to listen to them 24/7 now i listen to all my music not just green day which is better because i get more exited when they playexactly what I was going to say.......I smile every time I hear a gd song on my IPOD...which lets face is rare as I hardly ever smile and I'm a very negative person
Anka Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 I listen their music very often, but not as often as I used to be. now I'm listening to some old bands.but I haven't lost interest and I don't think I'll ever lost
Gwen Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 I'm glad to learn that there are people here that doesn't listen to GD all the time. I know there music is great... But there are other great bands in the music world and those fans who are only dedicated to Green day should diversify a little bit and listen to other music. It's not because you listen to other stuff that you don't like Green day anymore.
randomness Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 i'm not losing interest. i'm listening to them slightly less but thats because i listen to other bands too. Green Day were the first band i ever liked, they helped me discover music and the power of it. no other band can do that, thats why Green Day will always be special to me.

Iselilja Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 I've lost my interest for them, but not because they got too popular or liked by "the wrong" people, hell no! If I was going to care about how popular a band is I could might as well stop listening to half of the bands I listen to.They "introduced" me to lots of new music, better music, and that's it, and that's why I don't listen as much to them anymore.
Whatsername90 Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 I don't listen to them that much these days, but I'm definately not losing interest... favorite band forever.
Fuzz Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 I think a lot of people lose interest for the wrong reasons. A bunch of older fans stopped liking them because all of a sudden they were a big hit again, newer fans lost interest once they stopped playing them all the time on MTV. Of course I listen to other music all the time, and even though I only listen to a GD song every once in a while, that doesn't mean I've lost interest in them. It's hard not to get tired of hearing about them everyday. You guys can like them as much or little as you want. You don't have to come to this forum or GDA everyday, I do. For awhile last year I was so tired of posting stuff about them being in this magazine or that online article, it gets boring, redundant, and I don’t think it helps people understand Green Day. It just feeds this sort of cancer-like plague of teenagers who are "Green Days biggest fans" all of a sudden because they know how to spell Billie Joe. It's annoying. You don’t have to listen to them 24/7 or visit GDA three times a day to consider yourself interested or a fan. Someone said something like "I think if you lose interest you aren't a real fan," or something and that’s total bullshit. Fans are many different things. Someone doesn't need to be obsessed to be a fan. You just need to like their music. And I think for the most part, everyone on this forum still respects them for their music. Some don't even respect them, a lot of people think their music is too simple to respect, but if they like the music they are still fans. You cannot rate your level of interest by how often you listen to them, how often you check gda or post on this forum. Millions of people are interested in their music, so when they put something out, all these people are into it. They don't need to have daily updates on what’s going on to be interested.
Dai. Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 well...i don't think i'm losing interest, maybe i don't listen to them as much as i used to do a couple of months ago, but that's becuase they're not the only band in the world, and listening to just 1 band would be very stupid, when we have a lot of good bands out there. but i love green day as much as i did the first time i heard them.
zoki Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 yes i;ve lost interest. i was literally obsessed with seeing them live for about 6 months and went into a manic state but i don;t really like them anymore.See. That's the thing. I just don't get how someone could say that. Claiming you loved them obsessively for a while, and now you "don't like them anymore". I don't see the sense in that. Have you lost love for their music, or is it something "deeper"? Maybe, you went into a Green Day overload, and now it has to die down. Meh, anyhoo, I haven't lost interst, and I don't think I ever will. I pace myself with my favourite music. A couple of days without a certain CD can do you some good.
