Nicolle Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 No, so long as the music stays with me and i visit here, i can never forget or unlove the band which brought me up for the past years
Pineapple Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 NO WAY!!!, I will never lose intresset in themI found them and grabbed on, Now i am never letting goNo, so long as the music stays with me and i visit here, i can never forget or unlove the band which brought me up for the past yearsThat is the best way you can put it, I tottaly agree with you
justcause Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 I've always liked a huge variety of music - still do, but nothing has ever spoken to me like Green Day, and I have a big, deep ongoing connection with the music and with Billie Joe's words. Other music I like, but GD is a feeling, something so personal and close to the bone that to connect with it is unforgettable. I can never lose what's become part of me, my blood's green! I think what people are missing is being part of something that was a global phenomenon, when the whole world discovered this amazing band with AI, and they were everywhere. When your favorite band is on every front page and on tv constantly, it's like a part of you is center stage, what they represent for you is written in big letters all over, and you wear it with pride. Now that it's died down, what's left is the music, which is what was important in the first place. To spend time just with that music, beyond the hype and the merch and the awards, is to appreciate it even more. I learn from it all the time, it expands my creativity, it moves the fucking furniture in my head to this day! 'Summer has come and passed' - the heat of that big, world-wide obsession and love; it's why an artist needs recognition, why the little metal things from Grammy or Mtv or whatever are important, they're something that reminds you that you achieved something, when people drift away and you wonder if it ever existed at all, if you made something real or if it was just the time, just the fashion, just the summer of someone else's life.Hey, the waiting unknown are still here, and I'm one of them, still here, still listening.
Gwen Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 I've lost a big part of my interest for green day few month ago and I haven't already found it back. I don't know why but there's only few song by them that I can listen to...the whole Insomniac album is one of the last GD thing that I still can listen to without feeling sick. I know the rest by heart and I think that it's time for me to listen to other good music. I hope that, if I don't listen to GD for a while I will be able to re-discover them and love them as I did at the beginning.
mizz liz Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 A friend of mine, the only one that I thought really was into Green Day, is starting to loose interest. I think. She tells me if I keep listening to Green Day too much it'll get boring. I never want that to happen! But to confort myself I think about my other obsession; Harry Potter. (yes I know it sounds silly) I've been reading Harry Potter since the age of 8 or 9 and it never get's dull. I hope both of my obsessions will always stay with me.
greeenfreak Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 I haven't lost my interest, never will. I love Green Day and their music but sometimes I feel I need a break and then I listen to other stuff.
belinda jane Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 i haven't lost interest.i listen to other bands a lot though, but i don't forget about my favourite band.
starbucksfreak Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 i was losing interest for about 2 weeks only thats only cuz i wasnt listening to them for that time. but i started listening to them again and im still obsessed
Hellcat Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 I thought this thread was about loosing interest in gda.i always listen to green day daily, but i dont come here often no more. its more like a teen chat about mediocre problems that should go in the how are you feeling thread instead of dominating general chat.
mizz liz Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 its more like a teen chat about mediocre problems that should go in the how are you feeling thread instead of dominating general chat.Oh stop complaining allready. You're still here, aren't you?

(well duh) i listen to other bands too, but green day are definately my favourite. i like to download music associated with them as well, like the ramones, operation ivy and the network. ive always liked them, but ever since i watched the dvd i sort of went into this craze where all i could talk about was green day!! it was so crazy. i drove myself (and everyone else) nuts!! now ive gotten over that , thank god, but i still love them to bits. u can lose the obsession but you'll never loose the love.
owain Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 i hardly ever listen to them anymorebut i will allways love there music, well most of it anyway
rebbelicis Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 my green day obsesion slowed down..but im not losing interest i love this music
Varda Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 people's taste changes with time.If it wouldn't, it would be really boring, right?!
heartofmisery Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 Okay, so I don't know if someone has already made this thread. I searched and nothing came up (not what I was looking for, anyway). So unless I was searching the wrong words, than I guess this is the first. Hopefully.I've just been on aol with some people and they were talking about how they were losing interest/lost interest in Green Day. Some said it happened long ago, after Warning, some said it was during American Idiot, because of the sudden success, and lots more. So if you happen to think you are losing interest (or you already have) in Green Day, please explain your reason here.Yeah, I quite agree. I think it was just the gap between albums that did it. Also I suppose some people don't like the 'political' new side to them.Come on, it could be a good few reasons - new image, 'selling out', ...... lack of faith that the Gods of music could pull it off again..The fools.
Jimmy's_Rebel Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 I'm not losing interest in them or anything, but I haven't been listening to them much lately.I've discovered so many new bands recently, that Green Day has taken a back-seat. For the time being.Same here - i think it's cause i'm excited that some other bands have new albums out and i'm going to see them live. It's only because Green Day aren't really doing anything at the moment. When they start saying "we're recording new music" i'll get excited again.
day1_9 Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 Im not losing intrest in them but i am trying to listen to other artist because at times it seemes like green day are all i know and listen to
*SubLimiNation* Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 I listen to Green Day nearly all the time. I think the only reason I might be getting a bit sick of it is because I need some new CDsthat how it is with me too. i'm getting insomniac and kerplunk! soon though, so there's nothing to worry about.
love_bja Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 i nearly listen just to green day right now, but i dont losing intrest, i just can listen to it again and again, when i listen to other bands i losing intrest after a week but not here.. i dunno why, i just love the sound..
Broken_Dreams54 Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 Exactly what I was gonna putI like other bands and Im hooked on them right now, and some of my Green Day cds are collecting dust.Same here. Green Day is still my favorite band and in no way am I losing interest, it's just that I've been "discovering" a whole load of great bands lately, so I've been listening to those CDs a lot instead of Green Day's. But every once in a while I'll get myself to listen to American Idiot or Nimrod or something, and I'll be like... in paradise for a few moments.
