I would never lose interest in Green Day! They are my favourite band in the entire world :D There have been some periods where I haven't listened to their cds 4 a while coz I have been listening to other stuff but I will never get sick of hearing Green Day.

Haha D, I am a grumpy old coot too!!

I honestly dont think I will ever tire of their music either. It just speaks to me on a level that most other music just doesnt. :)

And rock critics keep saying it's music for disaffected teenagers! :P They used to say it more, but even AI hasn't made that notion go away. From one old coot to another... :D

.. But But Green Day manages to be authentic, stick to its punk roots, and still be wonderfully artistic and inventive, all without a trace of self-consciousness or pretense. It's a rare feat. And yeah, I'll never tire of it.

Im a grumpy old too  heheheh, hey Dee

I second that and as Beth said, their music just speaks to me on a level that most other music just doesnt.

Ten years ago, while we were still living with my mom in a small flat somewhere in nowhere Germany, my brother wallpapered his one wall with photos of Nirvana and one big photo of Billi screaming/singing into the microphone – this picture sticks in my mind ever since – I was 14! And when their music came up on the music channels VIVA or MTV my brother and I would listen to it – but that was it. No big hysteria. Interest, yes, but not so intensively.

Anyway, now, years later things haven't changed so much. Life still sucks but one tries to make the best out of it. I'm as normal as one can be – but what is normal – we all are crazy :P

What has changed is, that I don't just listen to GreenDay when their music videos come up on MTV.

I don't know when I started to listen to their music so inensively as I do right now.

I guess the media hype around their album “American Idiot“ brought my attention back to the group.

Their music helps me right now to handle life as it is and it seems that I cannot lose my interest for them, I'm addicted to their music and I believe that it is not just a phase of mine.

I'm die hard, still. I listen to them on a daily basis. I blast them when I get ready for work cause no one else is in the house and I can rock the rafters. I listen on the way to work, on the way home...Every once in awhile I try to mix it up w/some Chili Peppers, Foo, Evanescence or MCR to keep it fresh. It only takes an hour or so then I'm back to Green Day. They are in my blood what can I say. In 20 years there will be all old Green Day MILF's. I compare it to the love so many people have for Elvis or the The Beatles. I will have a framed pic of Billie in my living room right next to my pink bunny w/the Green Day shirt on it. God forbid he die before me because I WILL make the pilgrimage to his grave.

To be honest if you lose interest in them in that short of a time period your not really a fan of green day. You would stick by them during their hole career. so no i haven't lost any interest. Oh and when i first read this topic title i thought it said losing internet.

now that would be scary

I'm too depressed and sometimes I'd rather listen to something heavier than gd... but i love them, however.

I still love Green Day and I check GDC and GDA everyday, and if I feel like it I read on the net about the guys, so I'm still interested, but I have Panic! at the disco to worry about now too :eyebrows:

Sorry about that :P

Yeah me too, i haven't listened to GD for ages. Their music doesn't really seem to do anything for me now, but i think this is just temp, i'll just wait for more shit to happen.

As I understand, u like mcr... so do I)))

I've lost interest because MCR came along. But when it's time, I'll be back on the track

Wow... Almost everyone lost interest only because of MCR. I think it happens cause we are getting depressed and gd decided to take a break... We just can't wait for them to come back...((

Maybe everyone started really started getting into MCR because Black Parade sounds similar to Green Day (and or Queen) Rob Cavallo produced it and now they wear matching uniforms just like the AI look. Just a thought. Not dissing any band, I like Black Parade all right myself.

I knew that Green Day wasn't the band of my life, but it was a band that would change my life. And that they did. I think I take them for granted sometimes, and forget how talented and honest they really are. I might not listen to them alot, but I most definitely will never ever forget them.

I concur :P . Totally disagree, though. Now that I'm always talking about MCR everybody assumes they're like the next Green Day, sound similar and therefore wouldn't listen to them should I have the will to show them the videos or anything. But then a few people took a chance and they were like: "Wow, that's actually pretty awesome". Yay for me! :shifty:

Green Day have never been 'the biggest' band of my life. Because i am just not that kind of person who just loves one band and is obsessed with them and doesn't listen to anything else.

But they are a band which i always come back to.

Of cource when they release new music i'll listen to them more.

Couple weeks ago was the last time i listened some old Green Day with my friends. It goes on phases.

I also enjoy the bands image and other things than music, which keep me interested about them. I want to check out Green Day news time to time.

I have yet to lose interest. There's other bands I like but at the end of the day it's still Green Day. I'm really into the bootlegs now. On GDC I DLed all of them up to the A.I. era..I plan on doing that tomorrow. 3 days ago I put nimrod in and it's been awhile and it feels like I haven't heard it in years. You have so much choices in their music.

I haven't lost interest in them, I just kinda got bored with them. When they finally get another CD out, whenever that will be, I'll be right back into them. I'll always love Green Day. If it was a phase, it would have passed by now. I've liked them almost three years.

not that i lost interest just that i listened to them excessively and now im pretty tired of their old songs.

so im just waiting for the next album

till then, there are a lot of other great bands i can listen to.

*agrees* I kind of found myself getting bored a while ago, too. Like, around September 2006. I still love Green Day and they'll always be my favorite band but I try not listening to them 24/7 anymore because I find that just made me look like a real idiot at school; I swear, the only clothes I wore last year represented Green Day

But I've found a lot of cool bands after listening to Green Day so it works out...I'm just kind of waiting for their new album.

yeah... it's the same with me... I'll never forget what they've done....They've saved my life when I wanted to suicide :)

And I don't think the black parade sounds similar to green day... It's totally different :ermm::huh::mellow:
