Inane Kiss Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 No. i lost interest on green day and all rock/alternative music when i moved, and american idiot re-sparked my love. i'll never going back to being the person i was without green day.
xXx.:Jinx:.xXx Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 To be honest... I absolutally burnt out on them right now.. I hated their single, and its probably because I've lost so much interest in them. But when they come out with something good, I think my interest will perk up again.I think the whole reason I lost it, is because AI carried on for like 48209 years, and then they had to do something with U2 that I wasn't to happy about, and no one would stop talking about that.
Hitman Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 No, not really. When I get bored with one album, I start listening to another all the time.
stephmonster Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 yea. I havent even watched/listen to the saints video/song. My speakers arent in here at the moment, and its just a lot of trouble. I could if I really wanted to. Its just. meh..
TotalBasketCase13 Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 I'm still freakishly obsessed. I shudder to think of how I'll act once a new cd comes out and they start touring again. I mean, if I'm this obsessed now without anything really going on...
--like.a.hand.grenade.-- Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 I'm not losing interest in them or anything, but I haven't been listening to them much lately.I've discovered so many new bands recently, that Green Day has taken a back-seat. For the time being.Holy crap! How can u say that?!?! No1 can own up 2 their awesumness! lmao.
GNRAGE_2010 Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 I will lose interest in some of their albums for a while but then always go back to them. I listened to American Idiot a lot a few years ago but I got sick of it and listened to more of dookie and insomniac. Now i'm back to listening to more AI.
imxplayinxdumb Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 I've been losing interest in them for probably the past year. I think that when i did start liking them a whole lot, i just listened to them non-stop and my whole life basically revolved around Green Day and now i've just gotten sick of them for the time being. Also, i think some of it could be was that when i was just starting to lose interest in them, when i listened to Itunes, a Green Day song came on like every other song, or at least that's what it seemed. I hardly listen to them anymore. I may listen to one of their songs like once a month. I donno, i'm guess when their new album comes out i'll regain it, because right now, i think it's just too much of the same stuff...
sydneygirl Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 No, I'm not losing interest in them at all. I still play their CDs every day on my way to work or to the shops or whatever, and I get on this site every day. Recently, I went to the US for the first time and I went to San Francisco, New York and Hollywood, and throughout my holiday I was playing Green Day and I bought a book from Amoeba Music on Telegraph Avenue. Late at night when I couldn't sleep (because my body clock was so out of whack) I'd sit up reading the book. Now that I've returned, when I think back on the holiday, I feel like Green Day provided the soundtrack to my holiday, if you know what I mean. Their music has made the memory of my holiday even nicer. I'm looking forward to their new album and, in the meantime, I have been downloading concerts, clips and things, and making up covers for the CDs and DVDs, so I never really lose contact with them. I guess I'll just always love them. Oh, and I'm now waiting for the shipment of the new book by Mark Spitz to arrive from Amazon.
Mrs Hahn Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 i even dont know when i listened to them for the last time.....
The_original_mrs_cool Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 other bands have over-taken them for me, quite alot....
mmmcrazypills Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 I am not sure I have lost interest. But I haven't listened to much of their stuff besides Kerplunk and Nimrod recently.
cellophaneice Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 of course your going to lose intrest after a while. after listening to their cd's for the 100 bajillion time
Wednesday Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 I can't say that I've really lost interest. It's just that after listening to all of their songs for the millionth time get's a little tiring. They're still great as long as I don't have to listen to Boulevarde of Broken dreams again.
Under_Fire Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 I dunno. I'm pissed that my Best Buy doesn't have their new one, and I'm pissed that I can't get my CD player to work. I'm just pissed off in general.
InsomniacN14 Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 I dont think I'm losing intrest. If anything I am gaining more!Seconded
Holden Caulfield Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 it's not that i've lost interest, i just never really listen to them anymore. when i listen to them it still makes me happy though.
Walking_Contradiction? Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 I do the kinda:LISTEN TO ALBUMS FOR A LOOONG TIME OVER AND OVER AGAIN UNTIL I'M A TAD BORED.THEEEEEEEEEEEN. I listen to some different things, and then when I go back, it's just as exciting to listen to them. I think, when a band like Green Day becomes "omgzgreendayismylife" even if you grow out of that stage and don't listen to them as much anymore they're ALWAYS THERE. You may not listen to them for years, but at your prom or even your WEDDING and the DJ plays a song of there's I bet you the tears will just spill out. Green Day is just like that; they make a big impression upon their fans.
Milan. Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 if i listen to something to much i get sick of it, at the moment im sick of all the green day songs in general, im just waiting for new material
nak321 Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 of course your going to lose intrest after a while. after listening to their cd's for the 100 bajillion time yeah if you listen to it way too much you'll get tired of it and want to listen to something new.
woahinez Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 I've been listening to other bands and they have overtaken Green day but I know that I still love their music. I have no clue when was the last time I listened to them. Recently I don't feel like listening to their songs.
picturesoflily Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 i guess its about balancing it out. stop listening to them before it gets tiring, get into some other bands for a while, and then once you realise you miss the green trio, pull out all your cds again. play them and get re-addicted - it may even be sweeter than the first time you heard it you never know how much you miss something before you leave it behind for a while ay?
SydneySue Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 I was pretty darn obsessed last Christmas and I got tons of Green Day stuff and watched Green Day stuff on TV and listened to them every day. Now I am not like that but I still go to their website, look up pictures of them, and listen to them alot. I Green Day!
Minna Posted March 10, 2007 Posted March 10, 2007 I don't get how some people just "grow out of" Green Day. I never have and probably never will grow out of the any of the music I listen to, especially Green Day because they have saved my life in situations where nothing else could. What are your thoughts?
NiMrOd_001 Posted March 10, 2007 Posted March 10, 2007 Im not losing interest. you lose interest in things like...books, or school...not Green Day!
