minority29 Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 well, if i had to pick i'd want mike or tre as my brother.tre would be so fun to have as a brother. he would keep me entertained but i already have two brothers that get on my nerves and after a while tre would probably bug me.mike, cuz he's awesome and seems really down-to-earth. and having billie joe as a brother would be weird.but all three of them would fit right into my family cuz they're all weird and dysfunctional. i could actually see billie joe or mike being in my family though :/

They are great at what they do and their personalities are well, good, but there are only so many things you can do with the bass and drums. All the music comes from Billie and THAT is the most important single factor. Billie is not replaceable, the others are. If you'd listen to a live show with audio only, you wouldn't notice a new bass player or drummer, but I'm pretty sure you'd notice a different singer and songwriter. I know it's provocing to you, but just face it.

Green Day is not just one person, but a group. It might not seem obvious to you, but they contribute just as much as he does. They would not be Green Day without the three of them, their personalites make the group what it is. The music (and in some cases the words) is not just written by Billie, but the group as a whole. At least do your research before you make such bizarre comments. :down:

And they both have a really distinct style, too.Of course you can never replace Billie's vocals, but you can have someone else play guitar and not notice much of a difference can't you?

Would Green Day be the same without Trè's wierd comments or Mikes screaming/singing in the back? I don't think so. None of Green Day's three members are replaceable. No Trè, no Green Day. No Mike, no Green Day. No Billie, no Green Day. (ok, what i just wrote might not make any sense at all, but english is not my first language. Don't blame me, blame my english teacher. He's an asshole btw)

Billie might not be the same person w/out those two in his life. And if he wasn't the same person, he wouldn't write the lyrics he writes.
